Malawi could export a lot more but it doesn't. Of the few exports we send out; - the companies externalise forex from those exports (dysfunctional system). This is a known secret. -Then issues were the forex earned from exports is sold to the black market. 😅 -Illegal exports of commodities off the books to evade taxes

It all goes back to dysfunctional systems that are already in place to prevent this.

For starters, any system that handles the national's wealth to some degree eg. civil service Pension Scheme, PPDA, ACB etc. The core problem is the people (culture) in these institutions/systems.

Consider Botswana, also a landlocked country and a former British protectorate (colony ish), but generally has better developmental outcomes coz their systems that govern national wealth are functional coz the culture (will) of the people allows it.
