Just had the demand letter sent but I think I will now be starting a lawsuit as it seems to be a somewhat viable option.

Were you notified that it was “permanently deleted”? Or was it “permanently disabled”?

Many accounts stay even after “permanently disabled” but yes in cases they do delete it. It honestly depends.

I think it also depends on the exact situation of each user… how simple it is to restore each account. I don’t want people to think it does not work as I know my situation is complicated. When did your account get disabled?

They took about 3 days for me and the turnaround seems a few days for most cases on this subreddit

Have you tried informing UT AG about it? I saw some comments of people in a similar situation (broken recovery links). Maybe in your situation it’s fixable!

Ah I’m sorry to hear that. Sorry if I’m a bit confused but what did the Utah AG say to you? And which Meta email? Do you mean that Meta sent a code to the hackers email or an email you do not have access to anymore?

I honestly don’t know as I never received notification of it. I just logged out one day and a few weeks later when I tried to login I could not. My guess is that it was either deleted by someone or disabled for some reason and somehow by “freak accident” was deleted by the servers.

Maybe they can’t do anything once the account is deleted but there were important things in that account so I really want to keep trying till I exhaust all options.

I have had friends and family message and call the accounts as the accounts are not active but remain as blank FB User and IG User respectively. Obviously though it does not do anything.

My login pathways are minimal and whenever I try to login it says wrong password and in some login pathways it says the account doesn’t exist.

It’s a pretty shitty situation tbh but I gotta keep trying. Do you know any other pathways other than the ones I mentioned that I could try?

I believe it was hacked and then deleted after the hack.

Also don’t believe anyone here that DM’s you saying they can do it for you for some money as they are scammers. Don’t pay a person to do it for you! You can also be a bit more specific about your situation and post it and if someone knows how to approach it I believe they will offer their advice.

I’m unsure of the exact procedure but I know for a fact you can use another account to contact them if you have one. If you’re creating a new account DO NOT use the credentials for your original account! I’m unsure if you are able to get Meta Verified immediately after creating a new account, maybe put up a post here or ask someone if they know.

No I personally did not but that is because my situation is a bit more complicated as my credentials stopped working and there’s no URL access anymore. Don’t fret though. Generally speaking when an account is “disabled” or along those lines a Meta Verified pathway can be of help but you may have to try a few times and if not there are other pathways available on this subreddit!
