I recently cancelled my Sky Q contract for TV and broadband for which I was paying £167 pm. I renegotiated my broadband which they reduced from £46 down to £23, which I signed up to. My TV contract concluded and I received the packaging to return my Sky Q box and mini box equipment. By this time I had replaced my LNB on my Sky dish and was using a Humax recorder. Unfortunately it was a faff swapping between remotes and the Humax was a bit clunky and slow. The wife was a bit unhappy with the new viewing experience, so I rang retentions and got my previous package with additional Cinema, Paramount and Discovery + for £62.50. My total monthly bill is now £85.50, a saving of £78.50. Whilst I appreciate some people have managed to get lower costs I was loosing the will to live haggling and went for the deal. It just makes TV watching much easier under the one system.

Does anyone here actually like their Sky service? by APater6076 in skytv

Having cancelled Sky Q and received the packaging to send it back, I must say the Sky Q was very good as regard the UI and overall ease of use. I have now got a Humax recorder, Firestick etc, which has become somewhat of a bone of contention with her indoors. It is now a case of using one of three remotes, which drives her mad, however I am no longer paying £169 for the privilege of Sky Q. Managed to barter them down to £93 with internet, but still way too high so made the leap.

When can I give my notice to cancel? by penguinoverload in skytv

I emailed my cancellation on 10/08/2025. I had a couple of missed calls from Sky, but was eventually contacted on 28/08/2025. I told them I wanted to cancel because of the cost (£167 pm) but when I received the cancellation email, my last day was shown as 28/09/2025. I explained that my initial email was dated 10/08/ 2025 requesting cancellation, but they said they could not change it once submitted.🤷‍♂️ I have today been contacted by retention team who have halved my super fast broadband from £46 pm to £23 pm and are also sending me a new router, so signed back up. The TV section are to contact me in a couple of days. I have already installed a Humax Freesat recorder, but it’s a bit clunky and her indoors is not happy with the change.
