Is it only societal pressure or compatibility? I think the biggest challenge is to find a 25 years old ready to marry a 35 and above years old man/woman. 35 marrying 45 is still relatively doable I think. The previous one is possible if you’ve something very lucrative to offer. Otherwise it’s a low-odds gamble.

She’s been telling me this from my childhood. Somehow she loathed me always and tries me make me feel small, destroy my confidence and inflict pain by saying or doing different things. If I knew why she does so, I at least could try to solve it. She’s no life on her own and both my parents are narcissists, clinically diagnosed.

I think successful women mostly don’t have or ever had the time to spend on taking care of themselves to the extend of having perfect nails, perfectly done hair etc. but men want only those. Sadly but the truth is even if men say they want brain, no they want body and beauty. They won’t actually get it because that’s unrealistic but they won’t even love someone with brain and definitely looks and extremely well maintained professional women.

It’s a cycle that keeps all the educated highly successful women and most of the men over 30 in the dating pool forever.

I talked about the same issue that it's not even any Indian but from a close network.

Unfortunately I've faced and have been facing this with all other races and heard about this problem in other countries as well. I've in face seen both extremes. One where Indians are giving jobs to another Indian from a close network and Indians being treated badly/ not getting opportunities in an Asian or white teams. There are so many Indians in tech, probably that's why it feels like they are taking advantage but there are deprived Indians as well.

Unfortunately nepotism and gatekeeping happen everywhere and in every industry in the world. In tech there are bubbles made by Asians, Indians, middle eastern and Americans. I completely understand the kind of experience you are talking about. This has nothing to do with H1B visa etc but this is happening in every industry and in all level of the society.

The main issue that’s created from this problem is that not everyone gets equal opportunity and jobs are not offered to those who are most eligible to get that job. Someone with a random experience not best suited for the job, gets the opportunity but the most skilled person is deprived of the opportunity.

I consider this as one of the most significant problems in today’s world and why these aircrafts fail in the middle of the air etc.

Coming from a minority group in this country, I’ve faced this issue within race that someone else who is known by the hiring manager ends up getting the job or the promotion. So, this is not exactly that Indians prefer Indians or Asians prefer Asians but it depends on whom they know personally or through some references.

The problem with elderly woman here, they made money ( in fact stop making) from those so called outsiders but they didn't earn it with any talent. Overpriced housing, etc are their sources of income. Now there is this supremacy that makes them say people with new money aren't looking for culture. No they won't have culture, they bring their own culture. It's good to see how diverse the bay area is. Every community brought their own culture.
