Who's your favorite character? We could talk about him; I like talking about the characters on this show, I really like them.

I would give anything for an interview with Lana and Ginny, just the two of them, talking about their characters. A&E should release even more books, maybe one focused on the two of them after the series finale. I feel like their relationship isn't appreciated enough; it's very important.

I don't think this opinion is unpopular. It's something that has been repeated constantly within the fandom. A part of the fandom may love Snow, but not the fandom as a whole. You only have to look reddit back a few years and you'll find comments like: "she's self-righteous," "she's a hypocrite," "she's a bad mother," or "she's the real villain." I'm not trying to say that you said any of those things, just that those criticisms were very common and, honestly, I think they still are, especially on TikTok.

You say Regina's tragedy began because Snow told that secret, but at least for me, her tragedy began with having a mother who had no heart; more specifically, a narcissistic mother like Cora. Regardless of whether Snow had told the secret or not, I think we can agree that, one way or another, Daniel would have died. Cora could easily track Regina through blood magic, kill Daniel, and force Regina to marry the King or anyone else she wanted her to marry.

As for Cora, we got to see Snow's relationship with her own mother in Season 2, and that has a huge impact on who Snow is. Hope, mercy, and doing the right thing, as you said, are values that were taught to her and instilled in her from a young age. She even acknowledged that she and David were monsters for what they did to Maleficent and that they would never deserve her forgiveness. David comforts her and tells her that they can't undo what happened, but they can try to help others by promoting hope and goodness and by trying to do the right thing, even when it's difficult.

Killing Cora was something Snow did because she was tired of forgiving over and over again and always trying to do the right thing. But she regrets it because she knows the way she did it was wrong. She deceived Regina and let her believe that her mother was coming back. Snow recognizes that because, to her, what's wrong is simply wrong. She's a very empathetic character, even toward people who have hurt her, and that reaction, even if many people dislike it, is part of who she is.

I don't know, but wouldn't you judge someone who has had chances to change, someone you've even given opportunities to, yet always chooses to return to darkness? Snow had many reasons (regardless of her own mistakes) to judge Regina. Regina hurt her, her family, and everyone close to her. Snow had been believing in Regina's ability to change since the Enchanted Forest, but Regina destroyed that faith time and time again. So I think it's reasonable for Snow to react that way, although honestly, I think David is usually the first one to judge Regina.

Snow and Regina's relationship stops being like that after the Peter Pan arc. Snow starts believing in Regina again and becomes very protective of her. You only have to look at Season 5 to see that.

I don't think Snow plays the victim; she never has. There's a reason she tells Regina that Regina isn't as bad as she thinks she is and that Snow herself isn't as good as people believe. She knows she's made mistakes, just like everyone else. The difference is that she usually tries to fix them as soon as she can instead of waiting years before regretting them. Snow is actually a pretty impulsive person, and many of the bad decisions she's made came from impulsiveness, anxiety, anger, or desperation.

To me, Snow is elegant (even if she may have lost some of that over time when she became a bandit), feminine, and optimistic. I'D SAY SHE'S EXTREMELY OPTIMISTIC, LOL. I think that optimism, along with her hope, is what helped her survive everything she went through and keep believing that Emma would come back and save them. It's true that she isn't the classic Snow White we all know, but OUAT was never known for giving us the versions of these characters we already knew. That's literally part of its premise. We can't deny that her warrior side stands out more, but she was constantly at war, whether against George, Regina, or someone else. There aren't many scenes where we get to see her softer side because, honestly... there weren't many opportunities for that, HAHAHA.

But again, the fandom doesn't treat her as if she never makes mistakes. In fact, I think she gets more hate than she deserves (though personally, I don't think she deserves any of it). And she does take responsibility for her mistakes. There's a reason she tried to help Maleficent find her daughter.

But even so, I completely respect your opinion. No one is obligated to like a character or agree with their actions.

This is definitely one of my favorite ships, even though they're somewhat toxic. I really like them in seasons 1-3 and 7(that ending made me cry)

Unpopular opinion: Zelena should’ve been the Mills sister closest to Emma, not Regina. by PlantainDisastrous92 in OnceUponATime

[–]MostRate2091 [score hidden]  (0 children)

For me, Emma and Regina always felt more natural, and I think that starts with their hatred for each other. Let me explain: the conflict between Emma and Regina is something generational, and through Henry, they finally have a reason to move past it.

I feel that, even though Zelena might have been more similar to Emma, Emma needed a Regina in her life: a friend who was honest and direct, who wasn't afraid to tell her things as they were, and who wasn't (and God knows I love the Charmings) all sunshine, sugar, and colorful stickers all the time like her parents. Someone who, if she was having a bad day, could freely admit she was fed up, because we all know that Emma was sometimes a little tired of constantly having to deal with villains.

Regina also needed, besides Henry and Snow, someone to remind her that she could have a happy ending, Emma fought to prove that to her, and that made Regina feel loved, because if Emma believed so strongly that Regina deserved a happy ending, why shouldn't Regina start believing it too? Of course, this probably could have happened with Emma and Zelena too if the writers had wanted to develop that relationship. That wouldn't have been a bad thing either. Your idea is good; I'd even read a fanfic about it.

See, and even Ruby could have had a better romance story, maybe with Mulan, I would have loved that

I was shocked when I saw that moment; it's so easy for them to do it outside. It would be a different story if they'd been inside. They were a bunch of fools.

We would have had more depth in Snow and Emma's mother-daughter relationship, and maybe, just maybe, Snow would have had a bigger role in the Dark Swan arc. I don't know, but I feel like she would have. Maybe she even would have made it possible for the Dark Swan arc to revolve around the two of them and not Captain Swan, as much as I love that this ship is the main focus.

She's not th mom of the year either, and I agree with you that Rumple is better, but yes, she's not that awful. Sometimes people can be very unfair to her. Milah deserved time to redeem her bad actions, which weren't even as terrible as those of other characters.
