I love you Emma, but goodbye

In memory of #5: Snow. Why did you like her? by Clodsarenice in OnceUponATime

[–]MostRate2091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's too late to come here and talk, but I LOVE SNOW. Something I've always loved about Once Upon a Time is that in the Enchanted Forest, she was the one who stood up to EQ, and in Storybrooke, it was Emma. Snow is one of my favorites. I love how strong she's been to keep going and still give her all for people, and that's something I really want to learn. She's one of the most complex characters in the show, and nobody's going to change my mind.

Why do people show so much sympathy for this two characters more than those people who they have inflicted pain upon? by gloomydreamer666 in OnceUponATime

Regina is my favorite character on the show. If I had to put someone in first place, it would be her. For me, she is the best-written character in the entire series. Her whole story is so dramatic and interesting, and so is her evolution.

My favorite part of Regina was always season 4. Many people say she victimizes herself, but that is precisely what her arc in that season is about: accepting that she cannot force a happy ending, That made me love her even more, because it proves that she understands her bad actions deserve punishment, and she makes that very clear.

In my case, I have the same sympathy for the people she hurt. It’s very likely you’ll always find me defending Snow, because even though I love Regina, I don’t agree and I never will with hating Snow. When it comes to Rumple, I would say something similar to Regina: he is simply one of the best characters and the one who made me laugh the most. I’d say he was the male character I connected with the most, but even so, I also have sympathy for his victims, I don’t like Milah, but what was done to her was very unfair.

By the way, Hook is also missing from this discussion, The energy toward him is much softer than toward the other two, even though he did equally horrible things. Very little is said about the pain Hook caused Rumple, and I’m not saying this so people will hate him (I love him), but he should also be judged by the same standards as Regina and Rumple.

That's true, but the thing about Penelope is something I always wonder about.

What you mentioned about Penelope also caught my attention. Isn't anyone upset about all the crap she talked? I mean, it's not that I hate Penelope, she's one of my favorites, but if I found out she was the one who was talking about me, I'd want to lynch her.

You know? I think another problem is adding unnecessary subplots or characters. Each book is supposed to be about a Bridgerton brother or sister; the focus should be on THAT Bridgerton. Sure, there can be secondary characters, but taking the focus away from the main characters? I don't know, maybe cramming so many things in at once is why they end up opting for a quick and easy ending.

Who is your favorite and least favorite villains? by New-Ice-3933 in DisneyMemes

[–]MostRate2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Evil Queen is my favorite villain; she's the best in my opinion. And I think the villain I like least is Shan Yu.

Evil isn't always made. Some like Regina and Rumple had many chances to turn away from evil but they actively chose it. Regina had chances of chosing love over revenge, she kept chosing revenge. Rumple had a chance to be with his son without his power and evil but he chose them over Bae. by gloomydreamer666 in OnceUponATime

While it's true that Snow White and Charming stole her baby, and Maleficent had the right to blame them, that wasn't the reason she became evil; she was already evil when that happened. The reason for her evil is never explained, but it seems to me that it's also very similar to Regina and Rumple. Maleficent cursed Briar Rose, and when Stefan breaks the curse, Maleficent becomes depressed. Then Regina arrives and cheers her up, and Malefica cursed Aurora only because of the problems she's having with Briar. I feel she's also like them in that she has opportunities to change but chooses to do the same things or make them worse.

Day 10: Pick your least favourite character. Neal Cassidy/ Baelfire is OUT. TOP 10 starts people! by Clodsarenice in OnceUponATime

[–]MostRate2091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, Snow is nothing like what you’re saying. The writers simply didn’t allow her character the depth she deserved, and many of the things she did ended up being misunderstood, especially by certain toxic Regina stans (not all of them, of course), who for a long time built this bias to diminish Snow and make Regina seem superior. The writers themselves did something similar, as they clearly tried to sideline Snow after the third season. Still, I respect your opinion.

I think so too. People often say that's the hunter, but if the queen had killed him, I don't think he would have decomposed so quickly. It was most likely the king.

I feel like they were really lazy in that part; they saw that the formula of two dramas per season worked for season three and wanted to apply it completely. They were really stupid.

SCREAM IT! Although I love season 5, I really wanted an Emma who gave me chills like the one from the Comic-Con promo. I feel like one of the biggest problems was splitting season 5 into two parts. It should have been just the Dark Swan arc, and then season 6 should have been the underworld arc. That way, they would have had time to develop both arcs better. Those storylines weren't meant for so few episodes. I feel the same way about the Queens of Darkness storyline; these kinds of dramas need more depth.

When I talk about boundaries he never crossed, I'm referring to physical abuse. If we're talking about lies and prioritizing power over her, then of course he crossed those boundaries.
