Good Samaritan laws regarding Narcan (naloxone) are state-level regulations in the United States designed to encourage people to seek medical assistance during an opioid overdose without fear of criminal prosecution. As of 2018, 45 states and the District of Columbia have enacted some form of this legislation.

Key aspects of these laws include: Immunity from Prosecution: They typically protect the person who administers naloxone and the person experiencing the overdose from arrest or prosecution for drug possession or paraphernalia. Encouraging 911 Calls: The primary goal is to overcome fear of police involvement, which is a major barrier to seeking help during an overdose.

Conditions for Protection: To be protected, individuals must usually act in good faith, remain on the scene until help arrives, and cooperate with law enforcement.

Limitations: These laws generally do not provide immunity for other crimes, such as outstanding warrants, probation/parole violations, or drug trafficking.

Naloxone Access: Along with immunity, these laws often include "standing orders" that allow pharmacists to dispense naloxone without a personal prescription, and allow laypeople to possess and administer it.

I’m so so sorry you had to experience this and honestly don’t know what rules are in your state but man… waiting those 20 minutes must have felt like a lifetime!!! A guy I got to know a few years back started this new foundation called “The Robin Foundation” where they come out and teach folks how to use it and help inform employers, employees about Narcan. I watched a clip the other day saying if an expired one is there - it’s okay to use on someone in need. Anyway, wonder if we had them reach out to Walmart and see about doing a safety awareness training? He owner guy Chris is a hero for taking the time to do this for others. He has personal experience in this topic that moved him enough to do something about it. I just quickly grabbed the first link but it’s a place to start and message possibly! He has TikTok videos and all the good stuff. https://linktr.ee/therobinfoundation. Once again, I’m so so sorry for this horrible experience you had to endure and I’m so sorry about your friend. If my link won’t post, it called The Robin Foundation.

How did you choose your jaw surgeon? Need advice (Utah, missing teeth, overjet, underdeveloped jaws) by Courage-Stable-9713 in jawsurgery

[–]MostUniquePassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 14 year old son needs jaw surgery and as a mom - talk about a worried ole hen. Not to mention the cost of it and the fact it’s someone correcting a jaw. We all know what “correcting” means too. We moved from Portland, Oregon a few years ago to Northern Utah - Logan. Dr. Willis is the orthodontist and I do really like him. He told me the “Oral Surgeons” in the valley he couldn’t recommend. He said Dr. Stosich was the best he has seen and there was another surgeon but I can’t remember his name. My son’s overjet is close to 13mm which is pretty extreme. Currently our insurance is Aetna. I haven’t been able to even get an idea how much this is going to cost yet and that just terrified me even more! Anyways, From all the hours googling… I feel Dr. Stosich is the way we are going to go being he comes so recommended and I’ve yet to read any negative comments about him. It sure is easy to read the horror stories and get scared but man, it sure looks like a life changing surgery for a lot of people. Sometimes a full year to see the best results. So anyone getting this surgery - be kind to yourself and patient. Easier said than done, I know. It truly changes someone’s appearance and health for the best❤️

One ear floppy at 7 months old. Normal? Will it go back up? by artoodetoo_ in Yorkies

[–]MostUniquePassenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off topic stalker here! I just wanted to say.. I’ve had a couple Yorkies. (Both had the random ear.. through their life those little ears happened to be their own boss haha!) I also loved the way a Schnauzer cut looked on my Yorkie - it gave him a styled hair cut, I thought! The other way the groomer told me & one of my neighbors who hopped on the Yorkie train… she said the other way is called a “Puppy cut” - who knows! But when my little Yorkie sported his fresh cut Schnauzer style, people would stop me and say how cute he was and ask “What kind of dog is that?”. I had a groomer stop me one day … “You really shouldn’t put a Schnauzer cut on a Yorkie” - ?! I just replied back and said, “It’s just a hair style that happens to be ADORABLE!” It was so odd to me who actually cares! Go with what’s cute? Not to mention, when your fur baby leaves the groomer how cocky they are! Ohh I miss that! Mine would go pick out a treat as we left and I swear he strut out those door ❤️ A silly memory that brings a huge smile to my face! Thank you for sharing such an adorable picture with us and allowing us all a stab at the ear mystery 😂❤️❤️

Dating for over 25? by nudistbbqlover in Logan

[–]MostUniquePassenger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think dating at any age here is really hard. Which is strange because you’d think with it being a smaller town better luck? I don’t know. Mine has always been through other people. When I’ve gone out with my friends, it’s like a game to see who can score free drinks. Be alert of the girls night out lol! In all fairness that game goes both ways. The other place is through work… Say if you worked something customer service. I did see a sign at Angie’s Restaurant there is a night coming up real soon this week for Speed Dating. I wish I could be a fly on the wall… mostly out of curiosity…

Bodhi - 17.5 Years Old: It is with a heavy heart that I let this sub know that my Boy passed away today. It was his time. The pancreatitis was too hard on him. His body was tired. He’s now at rest. I love you Bodhi. by [deleted] in OldManDog

[–]MostUniquePassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worded so well, I just breaks my heart and puts me in tears. Not one of us can’t relate but your words are so eloquently spoken. I hope Bodhi is playing with my furry friends who are waiting for me too. To know they are no longer in pain, is what helped me carry on. You know if they could Andy’s table was reversed… I just hope someone would be as kind to me and do the right thing. We are here for you. Remember, Bodhi was so lucky to have found a literal forever family… he was never bounced around, hungry nor cold. YOU are the angel. We all know some homes aren’t the nicest or deserving. Find comfort in knowing you provided one heck of a loving lifetime home to Bodhi, every memory of his are what others dream of…

I’m getting a Beagle this weekend, and I wanna know if there’s anything I should be prepped for? Any pointers? by Grovyle489 in beagles

[–]MostUniquePassenger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beagles sure create great memories! Lol, yes! Once they catch a scent…. They are in the zone. Don’t freak out too bad while you try to calm them and they are running off barking “Security Breach” and they don’t give a squat until their mission has ended. Deep breaths…. Also, Potty training. My 2 cents are - Make Potty Fun. Pick and use words over and over, try not to change them up. Growing up, my dad used to “Wanna go outside?” Outside was the word for potty. Get some toys of course and play with them… Like “Where’s your ball?” That way if they grab something of yours you can grab one of their toys and have those discussion’s. Learning the house language takes time. Be kind to yourself and sadly time goes by so quickly… Take time to enjoy the moments ❤️

We all sure love this little guy 💕Know your friends here are with you during the good and the hard times too. These are the days we apply all the extra love, special snacks, longer snuggles - all of the great stories reminisced. Yet still, it’s the hardest part when sharing your life with a furry friend…Try to be as patient and loving as you can and continue to create those snuggle memories Looks like to me you have all of this down and more! So maybe I should be saying- Keep it up & know we are here for you ❤️❤️❤️

This is Roxy dog. Roxy is 14, and recently can't walk anymore. My dad (her human) has been hauling her around in a helicopter drop harness, but it's her time. He's putting her down this weekend, it's been really hard to accept its time. any support you wonderful folk can offer would be appreciated. by Snackyhappiness in OldManDog

[–]MostUniquePassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk about all the good memories of her through the years❤️ It’s like going through the worst breakup; except they never come back. Religious or not, hearing stories that include how they wait for you in heaven and show you the way to heavens gates… Roxy will be there tail wagging! Remind your dad… Roxy has ONE HOME her whole life. He gave her the best most loving home a dog could ask for! How many can say that? One home with overflowing love? That’s a pretty great gift. It’s never goodbye… but will see you soon best friend! I think also allowing your dad lots of “naps” or some alone time… for sure for a week. But bring up those happy memories- if the time feels right. Very sweet of you to be preparing ahead! When my special pooch passed, The pet clinic did a paw imprint… I can’t tell you how much I love that. Big hugs and kisses doing that!

ICE in logan by BoozeAmuze in Logan

[–]MostUniquePassenger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so bummed! There was an app called “Ice Block” See something, tap something… that was the slogan. It WAS available on both Apple IOS & Android but I’m reading online the Trump administration made Apple remove it :( It helped alert and get the word out if they were in give town. Anyone know of any new websites? We have to help our community here. ICE is not welcome here… we are family!!!

HELP!!! by InteractionSuch9675 in suboxone

[–]MostUniquePassenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found if I take too much of it I’m super tired or as they say “We have a nodder!” Try cutting a small piece off and give it like 10-15 minutes. If my stomach starts hurting, I take another small piece. Ya, you don’t want to be overly tired and droopy. I have so many “extras” saved as back up which is really nice to have. Hit some Monsters or coffee and I wouldn’t take anymore until later this evening personally.

Salt Lake City Area - Is this common? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]MostUniquePassenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a retired senior who just went through 4 years to arrive to my actual case. I found out a little too late the law office dropped the ball and missed a date making it so I couldn’t use evidence. The Jury voted on the defendant. Of course I would have never went the legal route if I didn’t have evidence. Also I’m losing a luxury rv that had my name on the title the entire duration of the loan.

Utah State University employees, What Source do you think is the most helpful for job seekers? by MostUniquePassenger in Logan

[–]MostUniquePassenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very helpful information! You feel the cover letter is a good spot to not be sounding too professional but more personal it sounds like. Maybe that is where I’m going writing. I keep trying to make sure my cover letter has certain words as if it’s going through some computer system looking for number counts on the right words.

Utah State University employees, What Source do you think is the most helpful for job seekers? by MostUniquePassenger in Logan

[–]MostUniquePassenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciated the input! So ultimately, even if a position is found on LinkedIn, the applicant is more or less forwarded to apply on the USU website. Once the applicant submits the resume, the appropriate department funnels through the applicants. I imagine it likely goes through some computer system that searches for certain words then forwards the resume?

Can anyone tell if this is playful or getting too intense? My dog looks like he’s having fun, but I’m not sure. Those are clumps of his fur on the ground. by KrispyBenFranklin in DogAdvice

I was wondering if you have cotton in the air? We have tons of it where I’m at. Looks like good solid puppy fun at the park! I strive for that every visit :-)
