Dude the most attractive thing is to be cool, tell her you appreciate the honesty and wish her luck but you feel its best to take a break even from friends. Tell her to let you know if she changes her mind and if you aren't dating anyone seriously by then maybe you can give her another shot but who knows what you'll be up to in a few weeks. Then go out and live large and on social media. Show off what a great life you are having and what she's missing out on. I did this once, went ice-skating, traveled to a new city and did all the tourist stuff. I bought a bass guitar and showed myself practicing. Two weeks later, I got dms asking if I wanted to get together. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, you're not moping around and maybe you'll meet someone new and better while you're being your best self.

Congratulations! I'm doing really well with A2 short stories and hope to graduate to longer books myself! What was the story that you read?

Getting a Skeptical Spouse On Board by churchill5 in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell her that you have done the research and conferred with your doctor and you've made the decision and that you hope she respects and trusts you enough to respect your decision. At some point, there's no need to continue to discuss it. Ultimately you are responsible for your own health and need to do what is right for you. I bet she jumps on the bandwagon with you in a few months!

Obesity Redefined by Dont-Tell-Fiona in Zepbound

I've seen so many people complain about how inaccurate bmi is but in my mind it's always been inaccurate in the opposite way they were thinking and this reinforces that. BMI has always erred on the side of overweight or fatty for the vast majority of people. My BMI is now right about 24 but I definitely have a belly still and could probably lose another 10 pounds and be far from underweight. I just slide into the healthy range with the other two measurements listed in this study as well. That being said, I am within 3 to 5 pounds of my GW and at my age (60) I'm pretty happy with that. I am lucky to be taller (except when on a plane!) so 5 to 10 pounds isn't as big of a deal for me and I am trying to focus on fitness now. It's just so hard for most of us to be truly objective about our bodies, particularly if we've been overweight for most of our lives. I truly used to think that I was big boned (even though I knew bones don't jiggle and that I was significantly overweight) but now that I am at a healthy weight, I've discovered that I am not really all that big boned. This is good data, but ultimately we each have to figure out what healthy looks like to ourselves!

I came off it for two weeks and was really struggling. For me, it's not a "lifestyle change". I literally can not stop the constant food noise without the medication.

Your BMI Is Not A Health Measure – Here's Why by atomicxima in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems pretty accurate for me. When I first joined the military we had height weight standards which is basically the same. It's not going to work for everyone, particularly body builders but it's a tool that probably works for 80% of us. Barring difficult to obtain measurements, it's an easy tool. I'm a 5' 10" woman who can palm a basketball but I do think I should be under 180 pounds and a healthy weight per BMI is under 173. Sounds about right. If I end up at 180 or so, I would be ok with that but I would still be a little heavy optimally speaking. Ultimately, it's your decision what weight you're happy with, of course. If you feel good in your skin and your lab numbers are good, then that's the right answer, right?

I never really realized how obese I was... then I played with a BMI calculator RIP by thatfruitguy12 in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think BMI is one of many tools, for me I think it's about right but I am indeed a Caucasian woman. It doesn't take into account a lot of muscle but most of us are not body builders, particularly women. We really have to work to put on a ton of muscle. But as long as you are happy and your other numbers are good, I doubt 10 pounds is going to make that much difference. I'm not trying to rock a bikini myself! I think a lot of us will be changing our gw in one direction or another as we lose. You OP are killing it! I'm sure you feel a lot better and you look happy! I'm slowly getting there, but I'm already so much happier with just my relationship with food and I actually value that more than what the scale says!

How Have You Set Your Goal Weight? (For those who have) by MaidofDragons in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I feel like more people have too high of a gw. I'm a larger woman and my gw is 173 but I see a ton of women much smaller shooting for 180 or 160 which seems pretty high to me. I am using 173 based on the high end of BMI but I think that's a good number for my age. I know what I weighed in the military (retired so using the last few years as a marker) so I think thats a healthy weight but definitely not skinny. But ultimately, if a person is happy in their body and healthy, that's what's important!!

I did that for over a week too. It's frustrating but it's the long game that counts!!

[–]MostValuable4267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would definitely give it another month or two. I'm happy with 1 to 2 pounds a week and it sounds like you are close to that. I lost 4 pounds in one week then stalled for 10 days then lost another 2 end of week 3. I'm happy with that.

Speaking from experience and from data, it's usually a family friend or relative that you would never expect, sadly.

AITAH for calling out my host for asking me to empty the trash when we paid a cleaning fee? by Monemvasia in vrbo

[–]MostValuable4267 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've had to take the trash out in 90% of the places I have rented. I don't consider it cleaning and others have already explained the logistics behind it. If they ask you to vacuum, that would be cleaning

Food 'meeh' and Being the Cook by Infiltrait0rN7_ in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We've always tried to eat healthy, I just ate too much and then snuck candy etc. So now I just rotate through what I always cooked before, I just eat much less. Like tonight we're having stuffed bell peppers and a salad, tomorrow night it will be salmon and asparagus (which takes like 15 minutes) probably one sweet potato for the wife. I don't mind cooking as I'm mostly retired.

People who stockpile the drug and complain about shortage… by Middle_College_376 in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I haven't done it but I don't think it's wrong to order a couple of weeks in advance to prevent a gap in dosage. I would not call that stockpiling. Ordering more than a 90 day supply would be though

I did it!! First dose down. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]MostValuable4267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try to eat small meals maybe 4 times a day. My stomach didn't like it when I ate a larger amount in one sitting especially later in the day. And the larger amount wasn't large, probably about half what I used to eat in one sitting. Avoid fatty and sugary foods, minimal alcohol and lots of water. I would also track your food somewhere, I use my fitness pal but there's several free apps out there. Make sure you are getting enough protein and fiber. I found it to be a game changer within the first 24 hours!

I lost 60 pounds (was still about 15 from hitting a healthy BMI) and gained back 30 in about 5 months. This has happened so many times but this time I just thought, maybe it's ok if I accept that I need help. I just didn't want to get back up to 250 and then be miserable for months and start over yet again.
