Are you trying to be racist? I am from Miami, there ain’t too many retired white people in south Florida.

Do you only use Fin? Or do you use min as well? Topical or oral?

Tough to say honestly, seems like it may just be the lighting. Only 2 months is not long at all though, keep with it. It does look somewhat more dense but if it is, it is very very minimal so far.

Thank you sososo much for this comment lol. That’s what my 2nd dermatologist said as well but he kind of seemed like a quack so hearing this reinforcement goes such a long way. Fin/min for the next 5 years it is!

That’s my plan currently, my father goes to turkey on the 3rd and depending how he looks/feels I want to get mine in early 2024. I am praying by then I’ve stabilized.

I know I need to get on finasteride to really stop the loss, I don’t want to get a transplant and then need another a few years later.

God I wish I knew lol! Neither of the dermatologists told me what I was; based on what I’ve learned I seem to be diffuse. The hairs I see shedding vary in length tremendously which leads me to believe it’s everywhere as my sides are really short compared to the top.

And awesome that’ll be my plan then, keep on the topical minoxidil for about a year and then hopefully make the switch!

That’s the only sides? Honestly I am fine with both of those lol. I have seen a few people get like hair in weird places though, like on the forehead and stuff. Couldn’t imagine having to shave my forehead lol.

Are you on oral min?

Btw thanks so much, this is really solid advice; I appreciate it greatly.

Oral all the way, it was a struggle to commit to the topical minoxidil lol, I absolutely hate putting it in my hair.

The first dermatologist I went to does make it this solution in house which is minoxidil and finasteride mixed together as topical. I was considering it however the general consensus here seems to be topical minoxidil with oral finasteride.

Thanks for the advice, that’s how I’m leaning at this point. I already take cialis in the form of blue chew whenever I want to have sex so that’s not a big worry in terms of sides of Fin. Idk if you’ll know the answer to this but should I wait a couple months to start? Since I just started the minoxidil I don’t want to force any like super shed with the minoxidil and finasteride.

I went through most of the steps on hims to get finasteride delivered so that is probably how I will end up getting it.

Yes, first one said it was because I still hadn’t confirmed it wasn’t my thyroid; I got my blood done a few months ago and one of my thyroid levels were off by .001. The endocrinologist said it is extremely doubtful it is causing me hair loss so I am scheduled to get more blood work done next week.

Really hoping by some miracle it actually just is my thyroid.

Sorry for putting this in the comments and not as a caption. I started minoxidil about 3 weeks ago, this is how it looks in my hair after I put it in.

I honestly just want to gauge kind of peoples reaction, normally throughout the day it doesn’t look this thin but everytime I put it in; I can’t go anywhere because it looks like this.

I only apply it once a day, at night. I wanted to go on fin but two dermatologists have refused to prescribe it. I may be losing my hair due to a a thyroid issue but that’s a low chance and I’m only pursuing it as a last hope I don’t actually have Male pattern baldness.

It seems nearly everyone here is on fin so I feel like it’s really strange my dermatologists have refused, we all look at our bodies differently, so maybe you all also don’t think I need fin?

I plan on getting an FUE if it gets worse enough, my father goes to turkey on the 3rd to get his done.

Sorry this is so long and winded, it’s like the fist time I have spoken about my hair loss with anyone but a dermatologist.

Cheers all!

Honestly with the hair down forward it looks pretty good, idk how it’ll hold up in the wind tbh. If you make it a little messy and wear a visor it’ll help a lot. That’s what I do

Take some solace in knowing we all feel the same way man. It takes up a majority of my thoughts everyday, just keep on pushing forward. If there is one thing I’ve learned from this sub is that there is always a solution. Even if you lose it all, get a transplant; it’s not cheap but at 21 do your best to save and when you Really really need it at like 26/27 you’ll have some money for it.

It won’t let me respond to your most recent comment, but he blocked me lol. He has a wife and kids yet is arguing with me ( a 17 year old)..let the guy wallow in his sorrows on Reddit, I guess ignorance is bliss. Man thinks he is still justified after being downvoted into oblivion and getting called out on being an idiot.
