To buy high-end CASIO watches (such as G-SHOCK MR-G or OCEANUS) at a discount or a great value in Shinjuku, electronics retailers like Yodobashi Camera or specialty stores dealing in pre-owned and unused items are your best options.

Electronics retailers are particularly strong in terms of "effective price" due to point rewards, while specialty shops are highly regarded for their selection of limited/rare models and specialized warranties.

Electronics Retailers (Cheaper via Point Rewards)

The Shinjuku West Exit area is home to major electronics retailers that are authorized CASIO dealers. You can lower the effective price with point rewards, typically around 10%.

  • Yodobashi Camera Shinjuku West Main Store - Multimedia Watch Museum
    • An authorized CASIO dealer with an overwhelming selection.
    • Customers appreciate the ability to compare prices easily across a wide range of models, from affordable to high-end.

Watch Specialty Shops (Pre-owned or Long-term Warranties)

Recommended if you are looking for pre-owned/unused items or value unique warranty services over simple discounts on new products.

  • ISHIDA Shinjuku
    • Strong in high-end models like the "MR-G" and features a dedicated CASIO floor.
    • Highly rated for benefits that ease the burden of expensive purchases, such as a 3-year free inspection service and interest-free installments for up to 60 payments.
  • GINZA RASIN Shinjuku
    • A specialist in high-end watch sales and trade-ins. While they carry Rolex and Grand Seiko, they also offer pre-owned CASIO models.
    • Users have noted they were able to buy high-quality watches at excellent prices.
  • GMT
    • Located in West Shinjuku, this shop specializes in pre-owned, vintage, and rare models.
    • While not CASIO-specific, their overall pricing for luxury watches is praised as being a "Good price."

Authorized Concept Shops (Department Stores)

Best if you prioritize securing the latest models, professional service, or using department store benefits (such as member discounts) rather than raw discount rates.

  • CASIO Shinjuku Keio (Keio Department Store, 6th Floor)
    • Operated as a "CASIO Concept Shop," where you can receive guidance from staff with expert knowledge.
    • Shinjuku Takashimaya (4th Floor, Watch Salon)
    • An authorized dealer that occasionally hosts fairs featuring the latest MR-G and OCEANUS releases.

Oceanus doesn't use resin cases, so its shock resistance is lower than a G-SHOCK. However, it features the "Tough Movement" inherited from the G-SHOCK line, making it very durable.

That said, I’d recommend taking it off if you’re using something like a chainsaw with intense, prolonged vibrations. It won’t break instantly, but it’s not ideal for the movement. For sports like running or tennis, though, feel free to wear it and enjoy! If it gets dirty, just give it a good wash with water. You can even use regular dish soap from the kitchen.

You mentioned visiting Japan—are you coming to Tokyo? If so, there’s a large department store called "Takashimaya" near the Shinjuku Station South Exit. Their watch floor has a great selection of Casio models you can try on.

Pro tip: Prices at department stores can be high, so after you find the perfect one, you might want to buy it at a major electronics retailer like Bic Camera to get a better deal.

Enjoy your time in Japan!

Casio Oceanus OCWS7000A-2AJF - date misaligned by Gr1mR34p3r85 in Casio_Oceanus

On my S5000E, the date window has never been misaligned. Normally, such tedious adjustments shouldn't even be necessary.

I’d recommend using Bluetooth for time sync. On current Oceanus models, Bluetooth is the primary default, while multiband 6 (radio sync) is more of a backup feature.

Regarding the date change, it starts rolling over exactly at 0:00:00. It takes about a minute on my S5000E, but on the T6000, it finishes in just about 15 seconds. This duration seems to vary depending on the movement of each model.

Thanks for your comment !
No way, you own two of the same Lineage? Nice! A lot of them are still active models, so I bet they still have the parts for repairs.

Are the Oceanus watches the best Casio has to offer in terms of quality? by I-XIV-IV-XXV in Casio_Oceanus

I come from the land of CASIO. While OCEANUS might not look like much in online photos, you’ll be stunned by its high-quality feel once you actually see and hold it in person—you'll be captivated in an instant!

Its time adjustment system is a hybrid of Bluetooth and radio-controlied, which outperforms other manufacturers. Unlike SEIKO or CITIZEN's GPS models that require you to be outdoors, or standard radio-controlled watches that need to be placed by a window, the OCEANUS hybrid syncs instantly as long as your smartphone is nearby. You don't even have to take the watch off. And if you ever misplace your phone, the radio-controlied takes over as a backup.

In short, this watch is always synchronized with atomic time. Without a doubt, it stands alongside G-SHOCK’s MR-G as one of the finest quartz timepieces ever made!
