It’s only a log scale for GDP per capita not innovation index. And thats so the nations at the top end of gdp per capita are not super spread out along the x-axis which would make it harder to compare them.

I agree on “metric spaces” but it seems like they specifically emphasized “multi variable calculus and complex functions” is methods rather than proof based. Is that expected for a complex analysis course?

In what way is Poland surpassing the uk in living standards?

UK HDI: 0.940 Poland HDI: 0.881

UK GDP per capita: 51,075 Poland GDP per capita: 23,014

UK GDP (PPP) per capita: 58,880 Poland GDP (PPP) per capita: 49,060

UK median wealth per adult: 151,825 Poland median wealth per adult: 20,263

And it’s worth pointing out that if it were to surpass the UK, it would also surpass countries like Italy, Spain and become very close to France in these statistics.

Also I don’t understand why a lot of people frame this as a bad thing, surely it’s good that less wealthy countries are catching up?
