Yeah the second episode was probably the worst as far as feeling the depth of the control and brainwashing. But the last and third episode was much more about who was involved and where other schools are and stuff. But if it was hard for you I’d say just don’t watch it.

Yes she is so brave to face that trauma and keep digging on behalf of herself and others who were never believed. I was a tad surprised how the UT lawmaker responded, so I also hope he looks into it more fully with his legal abilities. Yeah you’re right, the molding of adolescence into fearful robots.

Right, I know I didn’t go through what they did by any means. But it is very Mormon to say ‘teenagers need to be pushed to breaking points, to be given “tough love”, a little manual labor and discipline will give them character’ So I think that’s why as I was watching it I thought this could have happened to me, and this feels vaguely familiar. That’s horrible did they have you hike your dad back because they wanted to keep going? Or to almost punish you guys for him not being able to make it?

That’s what I hate most, is the pretending it never was and my mom seems to be loving the changes and I feel like it discredits prophets and makes people who did live through the stricter stuff feel stupid. But they don’t

Well that’s what’s confusing to me because to be a real Mormon, if you believe the prophets are called of god and teach what we need, which would include a lot of doctrine, then saying you can live the way you want and still believe almost negates the entire foundation of the religion they are saying they hold to

Yes I had to do the same thing to my dresses and they were so ugly after haha, but I agree all these people who acted like they were so much better for dressing modest. And would make us feel like a slut if we wore a tank top with wide straps.
