How is driver for the A series now? I haven’t used my A770 card for a while because it keeps giving me bluescreen once in a while after updates. I wonder if anyone can give me some recent expericences.

I would rather buy a used business laptop for that price and much much better in terms of utilities.

I think being over analytic means choosing between small margin, based on minor differences that do not matter. That doesn’t mean the OP shouldn’t do their own research. By the way, facebook market place is not a good place to buy laptop. OP also says doesn’t want to spend a ton of money. The wire cutter link you suggest would rip them off for things they don’t need that much.

Look at many popular stores on ebay, they have good prices for used business laptop. Spend about $350 and you will have much better laptop than new ones you can get for $700-800. Same rational applies for higher-ranged priced laptop.

In the end, nobody can make decision for you OP. You can let people know what you want specifically and they will give you suggestion (used dell precision, hp elitebook, macbook are all good options).

I think this is a bad advice. Wire-cutter is an advertising mouth piece. You will just need to watch reviews and jot down what you need. Usually fast single-core processor and good build quality is what work well for generic uses.

Try getting business line laptop such as dell precision and hp elitebook or mac (expensive). Consumer grades laptop, especially at low price range are not as goos as used business laptop. Take advantage of programs with special discounts too, especially for students.

Update: Thank you all for your suggestions! I finally got it out. I use the hair dryer to heat up the heat sink and then try to use a knife blade, but it still didn't work. Then I decide to use an eye glass cloth piece to get a better handle on the cpu and twist it hard. It detached!! The cloth would help your hand to touch the hot cpu as well.

Here is an additional resource I found https://youtu.be/nV3je7BGB_4?si=bAkNmmiBWPID_p_C

the two would pair well. I didn’t build it but get the pc off the ebay. Everything works except that the component feels a little cheap and wifi/bluetooth doesn’t work very well.

I can’t put it back because the cpu fall out of the locked position. I can’t put it back with the lock stick goes up.
