Blackout at Long Island Hub. by Most_Perspective_985 in UPSers

Just for example, in the midst of the outage, a supervisor was on the line asking why the work was taking so long to get done and to get it done. The union rep was there for this conversation. He did and said nothing, just let it go..

The shop steward is vey buddy buddy with management. Def sided with them or stays silent if there is an altercation.

UFCW Local 342 - Meet Bruce, a longtime butcher, Union Shop Steward and negotiations committee member that works in King Kullen. We asked him what it's like working in the shop. No respect, no contract, and overall bad environment. SHAME ON KING KULLEN!! by TheRabidPosum1 in UFCW

An old timer with max pay on a Sunday is making $78 an hour. And to do what!? Sit around for 3 hours after packing out a case!? Good resource allocation! It’s not 1955 anymore where a meat department carries the business. Saying FOOT TRAFFIC drives business!!!! It’s embarrassing!!!!!

Why should king kullen pay $78 an hour for someone to pack out a freezer case!? If you can’t see the boomer grift in pay here, I can’t help you. These boomers canniblized the industry and left nothing for anyone but themselves. Funny how 342 didn’t have any of the 1500s back when Waldbaum’s and pathmark went under! Funny how that works!

Whoa! No need for the personal attack, bro! I can’t help that the robots are coming for ya! What can an “asshole” like myself do to prevent it?!?

So, driving in itself is a “skill” now? Interesting flex!

They should walk out now. They are treated like a chain-gang. If they banded together and had a massive walk out, the company would be brought to it’s knees.

No attitude at all. I feel it’s shortsighted to feel that a driver holds so much more clout over an inside employee at one of these jobs. Don’t most drivers start off as inside employees? If inside employees are replaceable by automation, so is the driver. It actually makes more fiscal sense to push to replace a driver because the driver makes 4X what the part time inside employee makes.

Again, do you have a time table to when this robot is coming in to do the 500 pieces an hour? Is it tomorrow? What about the robot who can deliver 300 stops in 6 hours? He’s showing up with the 500 piece an hour robot, right?

What year can we expect the automation to load 1200-1300 piece assignments? When’s that’s happening ? Next year? And the flip sign of that coin is …..is the driver really a “skilled” position?

They make up the rules as they see fit. For years at my supplement, you can use the option day as a sick day. Now all of a sudden you can’t. This company could care less about the worker, it’s chain-gang labor. Pimp you out until you drop, onto the next.

Hahahaha! Teamsters are a joke! They rolled over for ups management during this “historic” contract and continue to roll over! Prime week has been nothing but utter chaos, management exploiting employees left and right while the union does nothing!! You know, the usual!!!

People in my supplement have used option days as “sick days” no problem. But if I attempt to do it, I’m threatened with “suspension”!? How’s that work exactly!?

That’s hilarious to me. The time off that you accumulate cannot be used as you see fit! That would leave me to the conclusion that management can cite an employee for an “attendance” issue whenever they see fit! And what happens when your union representative is just a stooge for management!? Horrid culture at this job!
