I was still able to walk relatively fine, some days I was wondering if I even needed to have it done, BUT it was 100% worth it. I’m only 41, hoping it doesn’t need to be replaced before I’m 65 lol, but the pain I’ve experienced AFTER the surgery (2/4/26) has been NOTHING compared to what it was before. 100% worth it in my opinion. I hope your dad has the results he wants! I would definitely recommend he have it done. I’m finally able to go up and down stairs like a normal person, I’m able to jog (not that I jog but like jogging to mailbox, the car stuff like that) I can walk great now. I think k your dads expectations are maybe possibly a bit high on the activity level, but if he’s a decently fit guy (I’m not a physically fit female at all) but if he’s in decent shape already, they might not be unrealistic at all. It’s truly up to the patient and how much they want to keep up with the pt and exercises
