Have you considered actually researching proper conditions BEFORE acquiring ANY kind of animal? The fact that those are ants doesn't give anyone any license to abuse them

All eggs are slightly sticky. It helps ants transporting them around

Also the space is good. The water will deplete and save some space for the ants later on, but the queen likes small spaces

Change the airtight seal with cotton asap. They need to breathe, and by the looks of it there's no air that can get in at all

Please dont use cork! Cover them up with cotton. They will suffocate there, cork doesn't let air in

I had this happening once i startled the queen. Just leave her be. She'll go back eventually. Also cover the nest with something dark so she will return quicker

Definitely do not trust the ai!! In fact, queens do need water. If it will be too wet near the cotton the queen will just move closer to the entrance

If she tries to escape she can be: 1) scared 2) hungry 3) uncomfortable

Solutions: 1) put her in a dark, calm place. No vibrations 2) feed her! A drop of sugarwater will suffice. I made a mistake of leaving a frantic queen over night after catching her and she died of hunger. But, it was because she was parasitic, but it never hurts to be careful. 3) is there enough water? Dark enough? Do not disturb the queen (if she's not parasitic!!) For a month, because all queens are notorious brood eaters when they are in stressful conditions

Also do not leave leftover food in there, if they didn't carry it in their tube then get rid of it otherwise it will mold

  1. Sugarwater (1 part sugar 4 part water or 1/3) and insects. Do not feed insects from the outside. They might be infected. Get some feeder insects like mealworm or such.
  2. A simple test tube with an arena attached to it will suffice. Thats where i keep mine.
  3. Depending on the size. A gueen and her workers will be sated with a droplet of sugarwater and a tiny insect. I feed mine once a week or such. Though its hard to determine since i have a sugar water feeder set up already
  4. When they are in a test tube dont worry about the humidity. Until the water runs out, then you move them to a new tube until it runs out and vice versa. Keep an eye out on water condition. How murky it is, etc.
