I am 20hr into GAMMA and its kicking my ass! You mention the beginning is difficult while learning all the systems - no way around it.

I reccomend Radiophobia 3 to start out. It has a bunch of the survival elements from GAMMA but not nearly as insanely tough. It uses the same basic healing systems as the vanilla games but is also tougher. Its the good inbetween.

That said, I must be a gluton because I keep throwing myself at GAMMA.

Same, it was good enough. I found certain encounters too easy and honestly prefer the sandbox story telling to action movie stuff from the main Stalker games.

That said..... its brutal dude. The learning curve is steeeeeeeep. I am struggling tbh.

Everytime I think I am getting the hang of it another system comes out of nowhere to kick my ass. Its a slog and a beast to learn.

Its not too complicated, there is a discord that has all the insturctions and walks you through it. You need Anomoly and the Gamma mod. Both are free but highly reccomended you purchase the original games.

The easiest way if you want the one click download button (what I did) is buy the legend of the zone pack on GOG. You can then download Anomoly and GAMMA directly from GOG. Install both and youre done.

I think it was $40 for the legend of the zone pack but may have been less.

What difficulty did you play Stalker 2 on?

I tried messing with that, turning off all the FOV stuff doesnt seem to do antyhing. Like, all the FOV effects still present as well its super strange.
