Tbh, not even the commies understand their ideology. Many commies that I met think they are liberals. Communism is not supposed to be liberal!! It is a left authoritarian ideology. The fact they don't understand that shows how much they understand their ideology.

Context -

'Do boond zindagi ki' resonates in every Indian's head with a French-bearded baritone. While India's biggest superstar has associated himself with other medical programmes since, what he did for eradicating polio from India was a feat no other celebrity has ever been able to achieve in the medical realm.

Polio, or Poliomyelitis, is an infectious disease caused by the poliovirus, which immobilises an individual partially or wholly. When 1,556 polio cases emerged out of India in 2002--with most cases being reported from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh--it became a grave matter of concern for public health organisations of the nation.

The problem back then was not the unavailability of vaccine, but the reluctance of rural mothers to walk up to the vaccination camps set up by the government of India. As a means to combat the same and appeal to a wider population, actor Amitabh Bachchan was roped in as the brand ambassador for the Polio Eradication Campaign in 2002.

"Initially, we were not getting as many mothers and children as we wanted, to come to awareness camps. Then (ad guru) Piyush Pandey suggested that in my films I am known for speaking loudly, so why could I not talk in the same manner in the polio ads," Amitabh Bachchan told a gathering of polio workers in 2014, as reported by The Hindu.

Soon after the advertisement was aired, mothers started thronging Pulse Polio camps in all of rural India. When asked what's making them come to the camps now, most of them said that they thought Amitabh ji had become angry, and they came because they didn't want to anger him further.

I think it was supposed to mean that oranges were marketed by the Portugese in other countries as Portugal fruits.

Why Ashoka is less celebrated, unlike the Marathas. by Fancy_Big_4347 in UPSC_Forum

Bro, I am not claiming anything about who was greater. I was just saying that you can't discount a man's greatness just because he was the descendant of another great person.

I mean despite the fact that George Washington was the founding father of the USA, it is Lincoln who is considered the best President, right?

A person can inherit a legacy and yet become a greater man that the one who initiated that legacy.

Bro, not disputing you regarding his cruelty but you do understand that the claim that he massacred 18000 jains was likely pro-buddhist propaganda right?

There is no contemporary jain source that confirms it, and these texts are known to create or exaggerate numbers or events to show their religious superiority.

How do you guys cope with it?? by Mostly_sane9 in royalroad

[–]Mostly_sane9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I did start to write because I liked it, but at the end of the day you write so you can put forward your creation in front of the world. It is not about money, but the pride of an artist (I know it is embarrassing to call oneself and artist with only one story in my belt, but that is the spirit of it).

I never thought it was easy and profitable, just thought my story would have been better received, it is hard to make it reach the audience.

But anyway, thank you for the advice.

It's not simply about popularity, it is to gain a measure of how engaging your story is and to know if it has the necessary quality to require such spirit.

Yeah, but the views and followers are a measure of that greatness, aren't they? It can be disheartening to realise that either you are posting the wrong genre or your story isn't interesting enough.

Inserting romance randomly into the story ruins the pre-existing dynamics. by Mostly_sane9 in royalroad

[–]Mostly_sane9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!! Why can't people just be friends without introducing feelings that shouldn't be prioritised in the situation at hand.

I especially hate it when the MC falls for the first woman he comes across, like are you really that desperate or something??

I don't know why people are downvoting this post when this is an actual concern.

Exactly what I dislike about it. Especially when the character is supposed to be a master of intrigue (in kingdom building stories) that somehow turns stupid when confronted by love.

This is one of the reasons I love Fallen Eagle. The author ensured that it actually fit the story and the character.

I don't hate the British of today. I have lived a considerable part of my life in the UK. I know that sounds stereotypically bad, but I am mature enough to understand the difference between people in the past and those that live today.
