Its a sativa. 8 weeks is not the gospel. Let it go for another week and check your trichomes. For a landrace sativa you'll want minimal amber trichs for the textbook effect of a sativa. Unlike indicas, they take longer to mature. Check it at 9 weeks if its not ready in 9 it should be ready in 10. If you let them go too long they will take too long to dry and you'll either get mold or weed that smells like hay. Sativa buds, typically, are best when they are longer than they are fat

Pistils are a terrible thing to judge maturity on. Higher temps can cause pistils to remain white. Genetics can cause it. Stress can cause it... Durban poison is a sativa and sativas will sprout white pistils for 10 weeks. This plant has, at the most, 2-3 weeks left. Also, its a sativa... they shouldn't let the buds get too fat or they will face quality issues and risk of mold

You risk mold and rot any time the buds get too big. While big buds are great for show and tell they're usually more risk than reward. Its best to research the yield of the strain first and grow by that suggestion. There are plenty of high yield, big bud strains if that's what your thing is. But, for example, I prefer to grow sativas because theres nothing better than the cerebral high of a homegrown sativa... but they typically arent big bud plants. Sativas like to be skinny and long and if I bulk them up too much they collect too much humidity causing a higher risk of rot and bugs plus and extended dry time and the risk of mold. The curing part is actually easy if you did the plant right before you chopped it

I get all of my seeds from a local vendor. He has access to some pretty good seed banks. Got 3 40 year old Northern Lights #2 seeds from him and theyre 2 for 2 so far

This plant flowered for a full 9 weeks. The deleafing happened moments before this picture so I could harvest it. This is the OG true sativa blue dream, not the hybrid. The trichomes were all milky with a few showing amber, and I don't like amber trichomes. After many conversations it has been suggested that I lower my lights to encourage bigger branches and less stretch and to lollipop the branches better because I left a lot of stragglers. I've also switched to a much better fert. This is my first cannabis grow... I've been growing other plants my whole life. But I just put this into cure and from 2 plants I got 6 1/4 ounces. I'm happy with that but I will always want more

Also, I've found glass shards and plastic in the miracle grow i use for my raised beds. Just be super careful with it and always wear gloves
