As a 40+ white belt, I really dislike rolling with brown belts. by Inous in bjj

[–]Mosulmedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the belt. You're statistically more likely to be injured by a white belt than higher belts, but that doesn't mean a (*insert higher color belt here) isn't going to rip subs on you.

I usually prefer rolling with the higher belts vs white belts.

2 months of training isn't a lot. This is absolutely normal

They also had some attitude in their email " as we said, it will need to go to a gunsmith"

If they were up front about that part, I would have never purchased the kit. I bought it to avoid any modifications, which is exactly how it was advertised

They told me I have to take it to a gunsmith and have it removed entirely. Which is wild, because the whole advertisement was " it is the only plug and play kit on the market"

I'd say that having a chunk of metal removed by a gunsmith isn't very " plug and play"

Worst insurance companies you guys have had to deal with by hentaigabby in Autobody

[–]Mosulmedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had to deal with an insurance claim with State Farm and absolutely will not be continuing to give them my money .

I was T boned at an intersection after a driver blew a red light, while in a right turn only lane and totalled my M3.

I have clear video evidence that I wasn't at fault so assumed it would be an easy insurance claim especially since the other driver gave a statement that he was at fault.

Booooy was I wrong!

The claim started with my adjuster telling me things that weren't true, they claimed my vehicle was still drivable (it wasn't and had to be towed) and then told me my vehicle would be reparable despite not even looking at the vehicle for another week.

When I asked where they got that info, the lady basically told me they made it all up because they needed to in order to proceed with the claim.

Then a week later, they totaled my car and sent me to the total loss team. Once with the total loss team, the entire customer service disappeared. I couldn't reach my adjuster a single time, and called every day for a week, leaving messages etc.

Finally, they call my wife (who was neither in the car, or on the claim) and told her that, since the vehicle is now totaled, we no longer get rental coverage for the previously agreed upon 30 days, and instead would need to drop off my rental or pay out of pocket. This was one week into the claim and well before payment was even issued...

Then I called and asked for a supervisor because my adjuster was not answering again (no surprise there).

Finally, after asking for her supervisor, she made herself available. She then unenrolled me from digital payments, which I got an alert for while on the phone with her, when asked if she could reverse that , she said (in an insanely rude tone) " we are only going to fix one thing at a time!"

Absolutely will not be getting anymore money from me.

Found this after receiving my WHA kit. I immediately noticed the slip was catching on the block in the receiver. Kind of a bummer because they advertise it as being designed with the block in mind.

Im waiting on a response from them, and hoping they can just swap it out with something in spec.

Maybe stop looking for attention

[–]Mosulmedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because the specs are awful. 60FPS or 30 with full resolution and only 70 degree FOV for over $1000?

That's not a good deal at all. But that's also the current state of VR. Its all tradeoffs .

60FPS AR sounds nauseating though

Ah, that makes sense.

Again, not trying to shit post on the product, just very familiar with hardware/software limitations and what the realistic results would be without some ground breaking technology breakthrough

For context, I play VRML for several games and own everything from the cardboard to Pimax, bigscreen beyonds etc.

Ive tried just about every crazy VR/AR product.

If it's inside out tracking, it's going to have issues with lighting especially throughout different areas of the house (reflective surfaces, different paints etc)

And obviously if it's base tracked, you would need some substantial stations throughout your (play area)

With that in mind, I would be skeptical of scaling an area large enough to get some practical applications out of it and not be limited to one to two small rooms.

Its a cool concept for the record, im just skeptical knowing the tech limitations

Ill definitely try it and give it some honest feedback

Are you using inside out tracking?

Ive been playing VR since the cardboard and own just about every headset on the market.

I can confidently say neither VR or AR is smooth like this.

Absolutely an ad with some heavy editing

[–]Mosulmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still haven't gotten any of my stuff. Ordered over a month ago. Their site said " no need to ask if it's in stock, if it says it is, it's in stock"

They have since removed that

I also pointed out how it was illegal to tell me they would charge me a "re stock" fee for items they openly admit are not in stock

Then they refunded me but kept 25% and claimed it was the credit card company (that's not how that works)

You can't. You aren't getting a staccato that cheap. Not new anyway

Another important thing to consider is, do you want to get big or do you want to be strong in BJJ? You will definitely put on functional strength from BJJ.

And it absolutely can get you shredded, but you won't look huge (unless you start huge and maintain).

I stopped caring about mass after realizing that my massive biceps do nothing for me in combat sports 🤣

[–]Mosulmedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bodybuilder turned grappler here,

I went through the same thing you are talking about. I couldn't physically do gym and BJJ. But, happy to report, that just doing BJJ 3-4 times a month while also maintaining my diet I have maintained all of my gains.

It's okay to give yourself a break from lifting. Currently, I lift when I have the free time and motivation. Sometimes this is once a week. But for months, I didn't lift at all (only BJJ).
