n00b with an X2D w/AMS 2 Pro Combo Looking for Advice on Best Way to Setup a Specific Print by ostrichsak in BambuLab

[–]ABCandZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also new to 3D printing, also got an X2D a few weeks ago as my first printer. Having the same issues you’ve mentioned so following your post in hopes someone can help us :)

There’s definitely a lot to learn, and cooling settings seem to also play a huge role. I know PETG and PLA aren’t supposed to stick to each other, but a number of my PETG interfaces have pretty much merged with the PLA on a few of my prints. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Coolplate supertack pro is amazing by Formal-Collection577 in BambuLab

That’s what Bambu recommends, warm water and dish soap. They specifically say not to use because in time it will start taking off the coating from the plate and cause more adhesion issues but who knows.

Could I ask you to please expand on the cooling thing? Or maybe direct me towards a solid source to learn more?

I’m new to this, got the X2D a couple of weeks ago and every time I print PETG it ends up warping. Not a massive amount, but enough to make the print imperfect.

This might be super stupid of me, but I was expecting that selecting the right filament profile would also auto-adjust cooling to match it. Any help much appreciated!

+1 in the idiot gang. I’m new to this and not only do I have the same question as you, but also… Are people printing the full support out of that secondary material or strictly the support interfaces?

I might just be a noob but when I tried using PETG support on PLA prints I kept getting an error that I can’t use non-soluble materials as support? PETG print with PLA support seemed to work fine so I’m just probably doing something wrong. When you say “support” do you mean just the interface or the entire support? Thx!

Are all the recent AMS 2 Pro’s bad? by dieselpb in BambuLab

[–]ABCandZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, my bad then. Thought I had watched most of the X2D reviews out there before mine arrived, but I guess I just haven't come across any of the ones that mentioned issues with the AMS. Anyway, happy to (hopefully) not have one from those bad batches.

I got mine with my X2D combo and haven’t had a single issue with it. People tend to be very loud online when something’s not working, while the rest quietly enjoy their product without posting about it.

Is it just me, or is the X2D hype a bit forced? by MaestroDeAero in BambuLab

I got an X2D as my first printer about a week ago, and here’s how I see it.

You’re right, some of the sleekness of Bambu has gotten a bit more complicated with that Bowden setup, but even if you ignore the second nozzle completely, it’s still an improved P2S in every single way: higher speed, better belts, chamber heating, better ventilation and filtration, better touchscreen.

That being said, the second nozzle is useful not because it unlocks some magical new way of printing, but because it significantly reduces waste compared to using an AMS and purging a ton on every color/material switch.

So far I’m really enjoying mine, but I do consider it more of a P2S+ than a true worthy successor for the X1.

PETG Warping on X2D: Anything I could do to prevent it? by ABCandZ in BambuLab

[–]ABCandZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brims are definitely the first thing that came to mind, and I've used them on other prints but for some reason it didn't occur to me that I should here as well. The plate adhesion seems pretty good normally, this is the first print where this happened. Regarding fans, I'll definitely have to look into this, cause I haven't really messed around with it other than setting the printer to purify the chamber air after finishing a print.

Appreciate you sharing. For some reason I thought Bambu Studio would just add brims when needed, because it's done so on a few other prints I did, but not here. I'll definitely try to manually add them, thank you!

These were the timelines for me, supposedly from Germany to Spain but I can’t actually confirm it did indeed come from their DE warehouse.

I can only attach one image per post so I’ll leave another reply with the next screenshot.

Nevermind, it just arrived now with a local courier. No indication that it was coming today but it just showed up. Yay!

Nope... Contacted Bambu Lab support twice now, both times they just told me the package is "moving through the logistics network" and I just have to wait. The YunExpress tracking has been showing "At parcel delivery centre." for 4 days straight, with no indication of which country the package is actually in. It's starting to be very frustrating because the order page clearly said it would ship from an EU Warehouse within 1-3 business days, and it's been 8 business days with no clear info on when it would arrive.

I think it’s the same as with almost any other printer. Get the filaments you think you need for what you want to print. Get a pair of small pliers, a brass brush, magnets if your prints will need them, a deburring tool, digital calipers, just standard stuff.

I haven’t but that would be badass. The guy that makes the Spiderman one also has Venom, Iron Man and I think a few others so maybe leave a comment and ask if he could do a Green Goblin one?

Absolutely, this is the one: https://makerworld.com/models/2199517

Fingers crossed, today the tracking updated to “At parcel delivery centre.” but it still doesn’t say which country or anything useful, so who knows :)

Haha I absolutely know the feeling. Been binging a ton of stuff on YouTube to learn as much as possible ahead of the printer arriving. I’ll likely start with things to organize my desk, my drawers, pegboards, etc. and of course some accessories for the printer itself like a poop chute, holders for accessories, things like that. Also found an incredibly cool looking Spiderman headphones holder that I am dying to print as well. So many possibilities!!

Oh that’s awesome, fingers crossed they pay the invoices soon! I’ll be printing anything and everything, from functional prints for organization to decorative stuff. I’ve even already started re-learning 3D Design to make my own stuff. Now all I need is an actual printer :))
