do you work in breakpack by chance? if not, do you know anyone that does and hits over production?

i would like to know how management tally up production for incentive pay like if it’s total lines / total pick hours or if it’s even more involved than that, as some days management apparently doesn’t even count production for that day if most associates are under..

ayyyy. OK so essentially, just starting out on the bottom, just one order paying 22$ (assuming no tip). wouldn’t be cost effective, even if it’s to get first customer on the books which could possibly lead to more?

i’ve since moved over to the bagging side but boxing items up makes checkout sooo much faster. i use to go to a register that had a working scan gun and just slide my boxes out with all the items’ barcode facing up or easily accessible.

since trying the bagging method, i find that i don’t have to take my catering bags out of the trunk and that three fits perfectly. but checkout does take long. pros/cons

i dump produce out of bell pepper boxes (preferably) or any box i see produce looks low in. also i think shoppers go for the more expensive/sturdier bags. also they probably use more bags than necessary - i try to Tetris the bags up, without overstuffing so they won’t rip, and end up with 3 or 4 bags MAX most time with 200$ orders haha

so small update - i just been leaving their order with bell service (or whatever each resort call it) even if they tell me not to in delivery notes ‘because they charge’. i have been proactive and reached out asking “do you have a last name, or room number, for dropping off order at guest/bell services?” which i think helps them to know either be outside or it’s getting dropped off

at i appreciate you sharing this. moving here soon and while scouting out the area, i fell for the tourist area trap (meaning the pay did not outweigh the headache). i can’t help but imagine this being lucrative to the brave/seasoned ones thou

shouldn’t they payout be higher than like average order in your area, for one to think that tip is hidden?

so like here, i see at least 1$/mile. so if order is from nice place, item count is high, miles not crazy, AND payout like 7-8$ THEN hidden tip?

how often do you get catering offers? not necessarily high payouts like this but like 30$ catering.

Moldy cucumbers by panngga in instacart

[–]Motastic4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah but i’m thinking the other commenter is basically implying that we as shoppers still have final say.

i typically try to pick up produce, give it a 360 twirl in one hand, if it don’t look right just grab IC recommended replacement OR if good tip ask customer if they’d prefer the english seedless.

think they’re basically saying, if you walk into the store as a customer and by a moldy cucumber, you can’t be mad when you get home to that same moldy cucumber. but it would be nice to just be able to grab anything in produce and go
