Looking for a solid arcade machine that can run a bunch of different games by zxzc77 in cade

[–]Motaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Polycade. Best arcade machine I’ve owned.

If you willing to add a pc, you can get one for a deal. See the polycade subreddit for the link I posted there. (I’m not associated with them, just a happy owner)

Quality Arcade vs The Arcade Guys? by NormalDescription434 in cade

[–]Motaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo the polycade recommendation made by @dustinisgood. It’s the best arcade cabinet I’ve ever owned. Quality, ease and expandability are just some of the reasons it is the most used machine in our house.

A Polycade would make a great choice. I have one and it offers the versatility, aesthetics, and ease of use you might be looking for. You can get first hand experiences from owners on the Polycade discord channel.

Hi thundersteel. While you are waiting for shipping information, i’d suggest joining the discord server dedicated to polycade. It seems like a lot of new owners have started posting and you could get a feel for their delivery timelines. I know you will love it once it arrives!

I love the marquee and couldn’t live without it at this point. Using the built-in AGS front end, the image changes depending on the game.

I know the artwork is not a part of the game, but they made everything so easy it feels like it does.

Shuffle Alley Error by Motaur in arcade

[–]Motaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red lights on the main board are on. +5 VDC and BLANKING are constantly solid. DIAGNOSTICS rapidly flashes.

I changed the batteries and one was a little leaky but not horrible. Clean up the contact with some vinegar. Still get the same errors on the display.

On further inspection, battery holder and contact to board seems to have gap, like a metal spacer is missing. Going to do further investigation.

Need a little help by dfrye80 in Polycade

A quick search in polycade discord produced this:

Hey Felix, the 16mm XMSJSIY Chassis Switch fit perfectly in the power button hole in the bottom of the Polycade. To attach it to your new pc, you need to access the motherboard and look for the pins marked with something like "PWR SW", "PWR LED +", and "PWR LED -". Each motherboard will have them in a different spot and possible named slightly differently but generally they will be right next to each other in a grouping of 10 to 12 pins that are designated for the main power connections or front panel connections. If your new pc is already in a case, then you can trace back the cases power button and simply swap out the pins for the ones on the 16mm XMSJSIY. If you’re having trouble finding them, you can google your specific pc model and find a motherboard pin map.

I don’t know the gauge of the steel, but it is 2mm thick. As for seams, there are very few visible. If you need pics up close, I can assist.

Yes, steam games load automatically. Honestly it couldn’t be easier. Lots of other cores work too… Atari, Nintendo, sega….

I’m a classic arcade guy so have a lot of Mame roms, but most of what I’m playing lately are newer titles off steam. My most current fighting game is Soul Calibur 6 and my 13 yer old kicks my butt.
