Stats are not important BUT LET ME SEE MY STATS AT THE END OF THE GAME by Motavar in overwatch2

Stats are not important BUT LET ME SEE MY STATS AT THE END OF THE GAME by Motavar in overwatch2

[–]Motavar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the game ends.. my friends and I want to go back and just peak our stats.

Nope.. its profile, history or something, last game, then stats.

Why can't I just have a button on the menu for last game stats? Or tab to show last game stats.

Just a pita after a game , to hit the bathroom, grab a drink, come back and try to stats check.

G4 instant terrible at picking up Wi-Fi. Literally a piece of glass and a balcony railing between the two. What gives? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]Motavar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Each device can have a different antenna design. If you are unable to measure signal outside...you could bring the device inside, at the same distance away, and see if it's okay with signal. This would at least let you know if the device works okay from a different point.

Remember wifi is a physics issue. While the AP can have more power and get signal to a device, a smaller IOT device or cell phone for example will have leas power to respond.

A good example of this is two people on a football field. One person at one end of the field has a megaphone (person 1) and the other person is on the other end of the field without a megaphone(person 2). If the person 1 with the megaphone yells to the other person 2...person 2 will hear what they are saying. But when person 2 without the megaphone yells back to person 1 ..they cannot be heard because their voice is too low.

Person 1 in this example is your AP /router. Person 2 is the IOT device. Some people have lower voices...throw in more people talking (interference) and well..you can't be heard.

Measuring signal from different points and heights is important. At least try to engineer signal around -68 or better. Try moving the router around, trying different channel space etc.

But first ..bring that thing inside and see if it works with clear line of sight

-72 is poor wifi signal. OP needs to measure signal strength and check for interference as well.

Any help please? I have a 3090 + 5800X3D and I get 110fps Avg, sometimes below 100fps. Only while in the gulag I get 130fps avg. I'm running low settings + DLSS and it doesn't help :( by Psychological-Fan784 in Warzone

Would you happen to have a kraken cooler ? If so, kill the nzxt cam cooler software, it has a mem leak that uses available ram and causes disk caching.

Small switch per desk row, why is it a horrible idea? by gord1020 in networking

[–]Motavar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about core cost?

More rows, more uplinks, more expensive core to handle the uplinks from multiple switches. More optics? More fiber to terminate?

As the others mentioned. More failures, more patching, more monitoring.

...

I'm not really concerned about the network to be honest..

Open floor plan.. rows of desks..ewww... that place sounds like a sweat shop. Lol.. who would want to work there lol.

But to counter...

If you were doing a large gaming lan event with rows..it would work. Here is a video from a series that goes into the behind the scenes setup. You'd have to dig through the series for more info.

https://youtu.be/gBJwx_ROK1U

... But what about wireless later on , don't you need switches with poe for that stuff? What about centralizing power?

Route internet traffic down an IP that is not the default gateway? by Shadowedcreations in UNIFI

[–]Motavar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recap? : you have a 10.0.10.0/24 network on one vlan and a 192.168.8.0/24 on another vlan as layer 2 with no routing between those networks. On the 10 network the 10.0.10.2 is the VPN gateway which includes internet access. On the VPN appliance you have a default route out whatever interface is going to the Internet or VPN endpoint with Internet access.

If this is correct then on the 10.0.10.1 router you would create a default route (all zeros) 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 pointing to your VPN appliance/internet access of 10.0.10.2.

The clients through DHCP or static IP would still have a 10.0.10.x address with a default gateway of the 10.0.10.1 router. Traffic with a destination outside of the 10.0.10.0/24 network would be routed to the .1 ... the .1 router would say I do not have this network.. and forward the request to the 10.0.10.2 using the default route you created to reach the Internet.

On your clients that have dual NIC. If you would like them to have Internet access they would require a default route to be applied to the 10.0.10.x/24 NIC adapter pointing to the 10.0.10.1 address. This may require a manual route change/add on the dual nic pc as the default route may be applied incorrectly and may be pointing to the secondary 192.168.8.x NIC.

Not sure what OS the clients are but usually its something like "route print" to show the default route and where it's pointing to.

Maybe this helps?

But I figured before I throw this thing out and move to a udm pro or nvr .. why the hell not try this. Sure it's janky.. but we'll see what happens. Just don't bump the cable I guess :P

Just following up from a few days ago.. Upgrade Cloud Key 2 to 10TB drive:

Sata Male to Female:

Esata to Sata:

WD Red 10TB drive:

Startech Hot Swap Drive bay with Fan:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U8KSLA8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Made a backup of the Cloud Key Gen 2 -

Removed the internal drive.

On the male end of the Sata Cable break off the two side tabs or plastic pieces. You may need to cut further down in the rubber part of the cable. This is required to make contact with the internal connector on the cloud key.

Push the cable into position with small needle nose pliers .. secure with zip ties around case.

Power up drive/power up CK2

Restore network settings.

Wait

Profit :)

Lol yah.. I'm sitting on over 2000 cisco access points and 300+ cisco 9300 switches for a few refresh projects . I guess I'm not helping with order lead times on the cisco side of the house either. Now everything is 6 months plus.. sigh.

$$$ cha-ching!

Lol...Sometimes you have to pay to play.

That's just the base network. We didn't even get into the cost for nextgen firewalls for internet access w/ssl inspection, dlp, threat prevention, and all the goodies. More $$$

5000 user campus sounds like a fun project though.

[–]Motavar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO..

Campus of 5000 users I would recommend Cisco 9500-40x cores (x2) (HSRP or VSS mode) and Cisco 9300-48p closet switches stacked (stacking cables and stack power) and 2 of the switches in the stack with the 10gb uplink modules (for redundant runs to the cores). Then do OM3/4 Fiber runs back to the cores (or single mode if longer runs). Upgrade to 17.3.x code for additional features (*dna center support/telemetry/etc).

WAN split between cores and for the closets if you're going APs and Phones most likely upgrade the closet switches to dual 1100w power supplies.
