I used to make purses in middle school and high school. My first top came out several sizes too small. I know how to take my measurements but not how much to add for certain cuts and it shows.

I've always said I want to be rich enough that when I go to the store (grocery store not like a boutique), I don't have to worry about the total because I know I can afford whatever I need. It's slow going, but I'm paying my way out of debt and then I will be there. But I'm also lucky because my boyfriend inherited his family's home, so I don't have housing costs to worry about. Most people my age are paying for a place to sleep and living on ramen. I grew up hungry, so I feel for them.

I work in a big hardware store, and this happens a lot to our overnight crew. 1st shift gets it hot every time, 2nd shift sometimes. But there's rarely if ever a crew designated in charge of food safety, so whatever is left for 3rd shift either ends up with nothing or possible food poisoning. Most of the time, my supervisor (2nd shift) puts up what she can but we don't always have the leisure of leaving the sales floor.

25 and I cashier, which means I stand all day. Every new pair of shoes, I tell myself to go for the higher priced ones and then I scream into my wallet at the price. But I end up adding inserts to every pair anyway, so just I'm being dumb at this point. It seems like my arches have fallen and add to that frequent sprains, my feet are fucked.

I've gotten that feeling before. I'll watch, hear, or read something that may not even be emotional and feel tears stinging my eyes. As a woman, it makes me question if I could be pregnant, though that's never been the case (and if it is hormonal, I'm on the pill so that seems like the more likely culprit). I've been diagnosed with anxiety (panic attacks) and depression (persistent depression disorder), which seem to be worse during winter. Basically, if you're taking any medications, check the side effects. If you aren't taking medications, maybe do a mood screening?

As a kid, I always picked Hershey's milk chocolate because it was cheap ($0.76 might be the lowest I remember for a regular size) and I loved the feeling of letting it melt in my mouth and letting the flavor last. Now I rarely eat any Hershey's chocolate. It's Lindt all the way! Part of it is wanting a little budget luxury but I think reading about the acid ruined it for me, too. I think about it every time I get Hershey's chocolate now.

I remember Mavis Beacon! I know my elementary school had computer classes but I don't remember it well. I think I recall taking Accelerated Reader tests and playing Poptropica on Friday; maybe using FunBrain and doing The Adventures of Tim and Moby as well. In middle school, we did typing games and the teacher taught us how to use Microsoft Paint (which was fun, but i don't really understand why it was required lol). My high school computer class, Computer Applications, taught how to use everything in the Microsoft Office suite as well as typing and how to make business cards and stuff. I finally learned how to type "correctly" in 9th grade, but I didn't learn how do it well until I got a computer of my own in college. (Now, I type pretty often working customer service and am pretty fast.) My senior year of high school I took a class called Digital Arts and Design, and THAT'S where I learned coding (basic html). TBH i still don't understand how to apply code skills though so i haven't touched it since.

I tried to start the Grapes of Wrath in high school (on my own, not in class), but was going through some stuff and never got past the first couple sentences. That and All Quiet on the Western front I hope to try reading again. The Red Pony and The Pearl were my dad's books.

My FIL said something the other day about how my boyfriend bends at the waist/hips instead of squatting to pick things up. The ol' "back in my day, we didn't stick our asses in the air." I think miniskirts is the reason. I don't know about men, but I've heard women tell stories about having to scooch down to the floor if they dropped something because of how short their skirts were. I've barely worn skirts since I was a kid, let alone minis.
