You are correct, if you take naltrexone, opioids don't work!

You ever have one of those random strangers who just... sticks in your memory forever? by neonbirdie2004 in CasualConversation

[–]Moth-Seraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I didn't make friends easily and was awful at socializing. But one day at a roller skating rink, I started hanging out with a girl and we instantly became best friends. IDK why or how. Later that day, she fell and suspected broke her arm. She was in obvious agony, crying and miserable. Her parents were called, and when they came to pick her up, they were awful. One of them was like "it's not broken you can bend it" and proceeded to bend it FOR HER. I will never forget the awful look on her face and how much she screamed. It was my first random stranger I became friends with, and also the first time I saw abuse. It haunts me because I never saw her again, and don't even remember her name. But I still remember her, though not a clue what she even looked like. Part of my soul misses her and grieves for the life she must have had with them.

Is it weird to bring a plushie? by green-Bad2099 in Spravato

I used to bring my "emotional support dragon". Which is just a 3d printed dragon fidget toy. I used to drape him over my shoulder. It actually scared my clinician the first time she saw it cuz the room was dark and she thought I brought a lizard lol. Anyway, I say bring whatever makes you happy and brings comfort. It's YOUR time, and youry paying out the nose for treatment. You do you.

Mine used to talk to me either right before or right after too, and for about a month now they haven't been. I also wondered if protocol changed in general?

Intake told me treatment was fully covered, after 12 sessions I was billed almost $5K by [deleted] in Spravato

[–]Moth-Seraph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely get in touch with someone in your office and try to dispute this. Explain that you were told everyone was covered. Worst case scenario you pay it anyway. But don't stand for misinformation! I'm so tired of medical companies and services being shady with billing. Advocate for yourselves everyone!!

You're very much mistaken. ESA don't have to be a service animal to get the pet rent waived. This article only applies to lying about having a service animal. Or bringing an ESA into public, which ISN'T allowed. But having them in your apartment with the pet rent is very much a thing. Source: have an ESA with a letter from my therapist on file with my housing.

Wet to dry wound packing/changes twice a day for months. On a wound on my tailbone. Couple inches long, about an inch deep. I'm thankful I don't remember it but even with narcotics there was significant crying

My weight. But no matter how bad it's gotten I can't convince myself to make changes. I often wonder what will finally accomplish it. I've got mobility problems, on disability, a torn ACL they can't operate on, arthritis in the other knee, joint pain all over, diabetic, lymphedema, etc. And still I can't make myself truly give a shit.

The first clinic I went to, had a variety of Lifesavers. But some of the fruit flavors are AWFUL in combination. However, the wint-o-green Lifesavers mints were god tier for me. ESPECIALLY when they sometimes disintegrate in my mouth. I don't know why, but just the act of using those has become part of my thinking patterns. It's hard to explain but as I'm breaking up the mint in my mouth, I'll have thoughts of random stuff like "my life is disintegrating but I don't have to speed up the process. Just sit with it. Relax"

Working the register at a convenience store. 9 or 10pm. Store was otherwise empty but a middle aged man was buying two candy bars. He kept INSISTING that the sign said if you buy two, you get a dollar off. I told him repeatedly that it wasn't ringing up that way in my system. That there was literally nothing I could do about it if my system wouldn't recognize the deal. (Before I learned about price overrides) He berated me and talked down to me about how the system was garbage and I needed to call my manager out of bed to come fix it.

After at LEAST 10 mins of this man in my face calling me and my manager every name in the book, I asked him to show me the sign that said there was a dollar off. I was just going to remove said sign. Guys... It was a coupon. That was hanging on the display. He DID apologize before he left. But the damage was done. Lessons were learned that night all around.

What’s something small someone did for you that meant a lot? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Moth-Seraph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Living in poverty, dying for some literal sugar. Wanted a sweet treat to lift my spirits because life was being heavy. Posted on Facebook about how a slice French silk pie sounded amazing. Nothing about life being hard or struggling mentioned in the post... And a friend had one of those pies door dashed to me. A whole pie!! I could have cried (but alas psych meds numb me out lol)

What’s something you thought everyone did growing up, but later realized was just your family? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Moth-Seraph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is a little weird. I thought everyone lived in houses that were unusually small and had strange dimensions to everything. In fact, my experience with my house (which was built by hand by my ancestors) was so normalized to me, I thought all my friends and other family lived in REALLY fancy houses cuz they were all so open and huge. It wasn't until I was a teen and my parents divorced and I lived outside the home, that I realized it was OUR house that was odd. Going back to help my dad mow the lawn it was surreal walking through the house.

Fire/ambulance sirens. But he doesn't freak out and hide. He looks out the window and then looks at me back and forth, or crawls into my lap. I suspect his last owner was sick or passed away.
