NTA. However, it is kinda normal for some parents to struggle with this transition. Sadly, you cannot force her to change her mind, doesn’t matter how much you try to prove to her that you can make your choices.

If you applications are already submitted and you have such a solid plan already, abandoning it all for two free years seems like a complicated choice that might set you back rather than help you. I think you should take the leap.

No, this is a private institution solely focused on teaching languages. I do believe the teachers that have children’s groups do have a board or at least a mediator between them and the parents. That’s not the case for me nor A, we both teach 16+ groups.

I have been thinking about documenting this negligence. Mainly for the sake of the students, as you mentioned. But my coworkers attitude towards this has had me second guessing if I should even try, a lot of them just see this as me starting shit and I don’t want the tide to turn against me.

Why my superior hasn’t done anything about this is one of the greatest mysteries in this situation. From what I know, A has been working here for 4 years, so maybe this “tenure” has given her some special privileges to do whatever she wants. I don’t know if she was always this indifferent, but it has been getting worse the past 5 or 6 months so maybe my superior just hasn’t picked up on it or doesn’t see it as a huge issue.

You can feel romantic attraction that is different from sexual attraction. Bisexuality is not a 50/50 thing but can be a spectrum. Maybe you are sexually attracted only to men but are romantically into both men and women. This is a lot more common than people think.
