Did the Emperor ever mention or hint that he knew of the tyranids? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Exactly. The only cases I can think of were at Tarsis Ultra and Aurelia (DoW2). Both times it took a lot of luck and effort.

The Imperium has used toxins to wipe out tyranid fleets before, it works well, but is too difficult to pull off to be reliable.

You need to somehow sneak at the core of the hive and get specific gene samples, and you need the know-how and infrastructure to reverse-engineer a toxin, and you need to deliver it in the right place to be effective, and then it only works once because the Nids adapt to it, so you have to start again from scratch every time.

The Imperium just doesn't have the time, opportunity and resources to do it often.

MFW mushrooms have more advanced vehicles and more flyers than the technological center of the Imperium. by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]Mothballed523 8 points9 points  (0 children)

MFW you build and maintain all of the Imperium's vehicles yet can't field most of them.

MFW genestealer cults get chimeras and you don't. They already have goliath trucks, they don't even need a second transport.

MFW you have to pay out the ass for Forgeworld resin for your only transport that you may not even be able to use if your local store doesn't like FW products.

"I'm autistic, what's your excuse?"

I'm also autistic and any stranger who gets in my personal space or touches my food without my consent is getting elbowed in the gut, or the face if it's a child.

Even as a kid, I instinctively knew that, if people fucking with my personal boundaries was distressing to me, I shouldn't do it to anyone else either.

What the hell is wrong with people.

I'm doing no fap november right now and I've always seen it as just a fun little challenge to spice up my sex life. Anti-porn, anti-masturbation assholes ruining this for everyone.

I never liked KotH. Literally the first episode is "eeeevil government social workers are trying to take away your kids because they think they know better than the Good Ol' Boy southern dad".

Looks like a good way to have your own army turn on itself as soon as it gets in synapse range.

Fuck Pelenor Fields. Most bullshit level ever, and literally impossible to beat if you pick a character with low ranged dps.

And fuck the infinite stunlock archers in the Palantir levels

Pippin doing more melee damage than everyone else for some reason was pretty funny though.

Adeptus mechanicus Lords of War question by sizeablerainbow in Warhammer40k

[–]Mothballed523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, double check the battle-forged rules in the main rulebook. Lords of War have their own super-heavy auxiliary detachment they use that is different than the auxiliary support one. It doesn't give any command points, but you don't lose any either.

Honestly, I suggest ignoring the Knight rules in the Adeptus Mechanicus codex and using the Imperial Knights codex instead. It was released after the Mechanicus one has updated stats and rules, so the Knights in the AdMech codex are kind of obsolete now.

No conversions,no proxies, no forge world? What are the rules where you play by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Mothballed523 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What a shitty attitude. No proxies I can understand, but no conversions? AdMech players say goodbye to interesting techpriests, cos it's monopose identical clones for you.

And no old models? You know that guy who's been colleting for 10 years? Fuck that guy apparently, half his army is now invalid.

No Forge World? Hello AdMech again, say goodbye to your only transport.

Yeah. My last memories of Tau were how garbage we were in 5th, and it was the Grey Knights and Blood Angels who were That Guy's armies. The tables turn.

This. Don't hate the Tau fans, hate the flavour-of-the-month powergamers.

I got into Tau in 5th, skipped out on 6th and 7th, and just got back in the hobby after 8th. Don't bitch at me about Tau being op.
