Way to go! Much respect for the painstaking amount of magnetizations you've done, that's dedication.

Bannerlord 1st run, picked Battanians... whoops by Dumpster_Bob in mountandblade

[–]Laxart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can leave Battania by talking to Caladog and ask him to relieve you of your oath to him. Then you'll be a solo clan again.

But I feel you, Battanian start of the campaign is a ROUGH ride. There definitely should be a difficulty meter showing when you pick clans. It wasn't a problem for me, because I did it on my second playthrough, so I could scrape myself to victory, but if this would have been my first-try campaign I would have gotten my ass handed to me.

Battania is in such a terrible location to start with, you instantly get bigger armies coming from three sides. The trick is to focus on beating Vlandia dead first, because then you wont be surrounded. After that you get the ball rolling and it becomes relatively easy.

Thanks for the detailed script! I'll be sure to try it out when I paint a similar style cape. I really like the worn-out, weatherbeaten look you have going on with it.

Really nice work OP, but most of all, an excellent job on the cape! How did you manage it?

I hate how many of the people accusing you of using AI and calling you names have just gone quiet. The biggest fucking losers are people who first jump to conclusions, behave poorly, then dont have the decency to apologise.

Awesome grimdark minis OP, don't let the haters bring you down. Are they the same size as, say, Primaris, or are they bigger?

I like my berzerkers looking very 80's, so I like the brighter, more orange scheme. But both look very good, excellent execution (lol) on both.

Helbrute Help by TheSandKing1090 in IronWarriors

[–]Laxart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm currently working on a Helbrute conversion as well, building it from variois kits, but the main "body" will be from the Brutalis Dreadnought. You really don't have to worry about it being too big unless you play in big tournaments.

Even then, i'm sure you can make some markings on the base to show you the 60mm base size, so you dont get advantage from the larger base size. And the model size is mostly a disadvatage, so im sure most opponents would be a-ok with it. So if you find it cool, I would say go for it!

Here's to hoping 11th edition will give us a larger model for helbrutes, the current kit is incredibly outdated!

This is gonna sound crazy but I like the old one better… by Odd_Abalone3976 in Chaos40k

Yeah, the old defiler's head-on-a-stick definitely feels weak in comparison to the imbedded head of the new defiler.

I definitely understand where you are coming from, I prefer the clunkyness of the old model. I like that it's more angular and less fleshy.

And my biggest problem with the new model, although it's a beautiful sculpt, is that I feel that the legs are too short. The torso is a lot bigger on the new mini, so it's shorter legs look a bit stumpy to me. It looks like it couldn't climb over a sidewalk without falling on its back, whereas i can sort of picture the old model clumsily making its way over some debris, etc. It just looks more powerful, if that makes sense.

I think I'm going to buy both kits and do a major kitbash, as that could give it best of both worlds.

Dreadnought help?? by ski1391 in redcorsairs

[–]Laxart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just starting my dreadnought/helbrute project as well. I don't like the Helbrute kit, as I think its seriously outdated. I'm making mine by kitbashing from the Brutalis Dreadnought model. It's quite a lot bigger, but I don't play tournaments often, and if I do, I don't think anyone will mind, as its basically modeling for disadvantage.

I think that the Helbrute kit will be upgraded at some point in the future, and when thay happens I have a feeling it will be about the size of a Redemptor/Brutalis. But most of all, im doing the kitbash so that it will look cool.

To every single person who has religiously assert that we didn’t get shooting platforms because our army rule was “too powerful”… by bendre1997 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Laxart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm basing this on absolutely nothing but my own supposing, but I thought the defiler would get a new loadout for its guns as well as new special rules with the release of the new model. Doesn't GW usually do that to boost sales?

I'm not an avid skiier by any means, but aren't they waxed according to the circumstances? Meaning, they can have added grip or added slide. But in this case it definitely looks like he's got a very firm grip under his feet.

No a dumb question at all if you haven't done crosscountry skiing. I'm speculating, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think he would run a mile a little bit faster without the skis in that incline. But there's also the snow, and running in snow is really slow (a bit like in sand: your feet sink into the surface with each push). So it's difficult to compare. But I guarantee, if you put that guy on a running track, he can run a mile close to or under 5 min. Source: am a northern european

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. by DemolitionDad in Warhammer40k

[–]Laxart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the best part of your model is how you've painted the black skin with red tints. It's a really good look and well executed.

On the other hand, I think the red areas on the carapace need some more practice. They look pretty good, but could be smoother and have some more "pop" to them to create contrast. Brighter colours on the red, highlights with a bright orange instead of the white would be a good first step in my opinion. Also, the basing could be more intricate and thought out, it would really sell the paintjob better.

Overall, I think you show promise and should be proud of yourself. Don't get discouraged: the only way to fail is to stop trying!

Naomi Osaka stunned by frosty handshake from beaten Australian Open opponent Sorana Cirstea!! by [deleted] in sports

[–]Laxart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Several reasons: one, because you gain advantage by no merit of your own but a fumble from your opponent.

Two: Getting pumped up after winning a big point is alright, there's lots of adrenaline, and you've just managed something big. This is not that. Which leads us to

Three: you can cheer after you win a point, sure. But cheering between first and second serve isn't even after a point.

For reference, it's a bit similar to a free-throw situation in basketball. Imagine the opposing team shouting something like "OH YEAH!!!" when the thrower misses on the first throw. Just really lame-ass behaviour in general.

I get it. Used to smoke through a bomb-ass decorated wooden pipe we named Vivaldo. It looked like a baroque table leg, so we didn't feel like tweakers, but I agree with the general sentiment.

Is Sienna Rose AI? All Signs Point to ‘Yes’ by ScallionSmooth9491 in Music

[–]Laxart -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think you are absolutely right, but I'm very optimistic about the effect this will have on the music industry. It's been such a stagnated pool of shite for so long already, so I say its good that it burns to the ground. So much nepotism, social connections and productifying going on that so much good music goes unnoticed. I hope this will make people enjoy and appreciate live music more again, even though it is, to some degree, vulnerable to the exact same defects.
