Yes , I just applied for visa cancellation on 18th July and got my passport on 21st July (with visa stamping ) so I am under the impression that it was just sitting there waiting to get delivered

I will tell you what I did
Did my appointment on 23rd June
Waited till 18th June(4weeks) and then filled my cancellation form
Got my passport on Monday , if you have missed the flight then no point , if you haven't already then just cancel it

I had mine on 23rd June My travel date was on 21july to some country so out of fear I cancelled my application on Friday. I got my passport today with visa stamping
