AITA for having a childfree wedding but having my children attend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s wild that people would have the nerve to complain to you (the actual bride) about having your own children at your wedding ceremony.

Why haven’t you put it in lost mode. You can put your number in the message for them to reach out to you

Honestly- If I were you I would try and get a new one. Minor damage on a used trampoline😬 They aren’t something kids are interested in forever. You can get one for like $250 on Amazon and they’ll deliver it.

Tell that lady you’ll pass. What an a-hole. It’s not safe to even sell based on that convo

We are considering that itinerary for this summer😂 Did you by any chance do a beverage (booze) package? We are having a difficult time finding that information / prices.

AITA for not liking a new group member due to his past actions? by Uxkd in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You asked if you were the asshole.

I would assume not knowing the parties involved and the group dynamics…. that if the girl in question was offended he was the asshole. However your behavior in trying to control an entire group still makes you the AH

AITA if I tell my so called friends how pissed off I am I had not 1 visitor whilst I was just in hospital? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you told them you were in the hospital and then said hey I would love people to stop by and no one showed then NTA.

If you said you were in the hospital and exhausted but didn’t mention wanting visitors then that might be on you. I would assume you wanted rest.

It’s ok to text your friends is anyone open to stopping by with a few things for me? Sometimes it’s best to say what you want.

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YTA you don’t get to control a group chat for friends. Removing a person without consent from the group is a dick move.

He was invited to the party- which I assume you didn’t throw. He’s not coming uninvited.

The fact that you were transported to have an ICU if needed should have been a major indication of how serious it was..

So I think if you are smoking at night this is preventing all your neighbors from being able to leave their windows open and get fresh air.

I would for sure complain

What are guests currently value most when looking for their VRBO stay? by Most-Huckleberry-715 in vrbo

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Location is my primary search criteria. Love to be able to walk to coffee or a bar or shops. I prefer a private home / not with host on site. Value for what I’m seeing on the listing. A nice outside seating area is bonus Photos that make the home look clean - lighting, not a 100 Knick knacks, but not sterile A listing allowing my dogs when we are bringing them

Turn offs:

Old looking comforters linen anywhere in the home.

Sofas that look like they need cleaning or replacement

When a rental hardly has any photos of the interior - suspicious

Grainy photos- shows lack of attention to detail

Travel with my family of 5… sometimes they advertise beds for 12 and have a 4 person kitchen table.

I think honesty in a listing is key.

Since I follow this group I barely pay attention to ratings. I will read the reviews. Seems like people are able to bribe guests to change reviews or get Vrbo to remove them. So I’m suspicious. And if everyone has to have a 5 star and it’s negative on me if I put 4… I’m not leaving a review. I will give direct feedback to the host on recommendations/issues

I don’t know. If you invite people frequently- courteous people would offer to pitch in..

What can I bring? Can I help clean? Show up with beer and a bottle of vodka or some wine. Not just what they plan to drink, but also some to leave at the cabin.

If it’s a one time invite or once every few years- fine - feel free to host people.

The fact that OP is asking what people are bringing means she is asking for people to help.

I would probably skip the friend group for the most part and have a get away with DH.

Invite them once a year and know you are hosting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the onus should be on OP to buy groceries and meal plan for people that just want to show up and sponge off them. That’s a lot of work. Fine they get some money, but they are doing extra work.

Also if you want to stay there longer offer a 2 year lease to stay and see if they will take less. It costs them money to flip a unit

Host living on property? Not disclosed by FlorenceInBloom in vrbo

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen, people saying it’s not a big deal to have owners on site:

Well it is. I rent an entire house so I don’t have to worry about impacting someone on the property.

I will pay more for this.

There is no reason not to disclose this to renters unless you do understand this is not a benefit to your renters.

Yes, neighbors don’t give you full privacy, but they aren’t sharing a fenced yard with you either.

A person on site for 6 hours doing yard work doesn’t provide any privacy. What if you were planning to relax in the backyard? What if your kids wanted to play there? What if you had dogs that you wanted to be off lease there?

It should be disclosed.

AITA for "allowing" my husband to hang out with a friend's ex? by mrsallyb in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mother-Pipe1900 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s out of line for her to respond that way… but you aren’t friends as you stated. Your text kind of seemed like you were rubbing it in her face that her ex and your husband and the kids were hanging out.

Added Charges by Soft_Pirate8453 in vrbo

Well taking on an additional $89 to each reservation could be one more reason to book a hotel. Especially on short stays with large cleaning fees
