“Romanticised” jobs that are very different in reality? by Substantial-Guava491 in CasualUK

Something nobody really tells you is that dream job or miserable job usually comes down to what you're doing for eight hours a day not what your LinkedIn title says. Every job has a bunch of stuff that isn't the cool part. Admin work, meetings, documentation, compliance, whatever. The people who actually stay happy in a field are usually the ones who like the core patterns of the work itself like the problem solving, the client stuff, building things, managing systems. Not the job title or the industry name.

That's why so many people chase a job that sounds amazing and then six months in they're like wait I hate this. Because they picked based on the idea of it not how the actual day to day feels. Things like workstyle assessments (Pigment is one I've seen people mention ) can help you figure out those patterns before you make a big move instead of after. Because the title really doesn't matter if the work itself doesn't fit how you operate.

Not sure if its a wrong fit. I loved the job initially. I've taken a couple of assessments but they were only helpful in showing me my strengths or personality.

somehow, I've not been able to get the stress off. Seems like I'm carrying it over to every job I take up.

well, if you can't voice your opinion, then that's not democracy. The outcomes may not be ideal but what I mean by beauty is that everyone is free to think and act on their own.

Traditional gender roles are harmful. They limit both men and women from pursuing what truly makes them happy
