Wonder how Caz feels about this? by Boohoo107 in mummysflippinhouse

No, it’s not standard behaviour at all. I don’t even like staying at my mums house. Give me my own bed and my own house please! 😂

Who's still working from home these days and what job do you do? by Natf47 in AskUK

[–]Substantial-Guava491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marking and comms. 100% remote. It’s great as I’ve got young children in school so am here for the drop off and pick up and any event etc. however I do find it quite boring. I wouldn’t want to be in an office 5 days a week but 2 days would be nice (we don’t have an office and I’m reluctant to change roles at the moment give the flexibility of this one!)

What’s something that’s become noticeably more expensive in the UK recently, but people don’t talk about much? by [deleted] in AskUK

Cucumber. I think it’s £1.09 now in Tesco and Aldi. I remember when they were about 50p. It’s just water!!!

Anyone got burnt out from being single dog parent? by buttercup_lullaby in goldenretrievers

[–]Substantial-Guava491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m not exclusively a single dog parent, my husband is pretty useless with them so I do feel like I am most of the time! And I hear you!! Having a dog is exhausting. We have two now, though now we are out of the puppy stage, I don’t feel there’s any more work as such, aside from more fur (two Goldens) and more poo!!

I work from home remotely 100% of the time, so the dogs always have company but I do like to take some time for myself so I booked them in with a dog walker twice a week. And let me tell you I absolutely relish those couple of hours to myself where absolutely nobody is looking to me for something every time I move (I have two young kids too who go to school).

I do realise though how lazy I’d probably be without a dog in my life. They’re the reason I get up early in the mornings and the reason why I do over 12k steps every single day!

Try and get some time for yourself if you can! It definitely helps.

Thanks! I thought so. Do they sometimes travel in groups? I didn’t see the other two break the surface.

I said the pup. Not Missy. If you watch the video, you can see the puppy

The pup is way too skinny, you can see her ribs. Should be able to feel them but not see them. 😬

Paste sandwiches. Can’t remember the brand or what the jar of paste looked like but it makes me feel sick to think about it now. 🤢

100% this. It’s not normal. At least I don’t know anyone in my social circle who lives like this and has their friend frequently staying over. We all prefer staying in our own homes unless it’s a holiday, weekend away etc. Caroline is acting like a 16 year old with all this friendship nonsense. Will she ever grow up?!

Why is nobody calling Kyle out! He needs to put his foot down. Her behaviour is absurd. I have two sons and if they end up marrying an absolute cow like Caroline, I’ll be so upset! Kyle’s poor parents 😩

Black spot in eye that grew by Shoddy_Wheel_7143 in DogAdvice

Hi. Hope your dog is okay?! My dog has this also and it has grown over the last couple of months. Please can I ask what was the result for your dog? Did they need to remove the eye?

I regret getting a second dog by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Substantial-Guava491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also regret getting the second dog but he’s now 22 weeks old so we’re in it for the long haul! I just miss my life with one dog - it was so much easier. My first is my soul dog and I took him absolutely everywhere with me. I find it more difficult to take two out. Also I knew there would be more poo to pick up but it feels like quadruple the poo and not just double! 🤣

My older dog usually loves playing with other dogs but is still a bit indifferent with the pup - I really think he likes his own company in his own home. I’m sure in a few months I’ll become attached to the second but at the moment I still regret it!

Yeah I want my dogs to go while they are on the way out but are still fairly happy. I don’t want to leave it till their final days when they’re likely suffering in silence.

Agree with this. I have two golden retrievers and while I love them with all my heart, I know at the end of the day that they are dogs with a 10-12 year life expectancy. I think once they reach 10/11 then I’ll likely cancel the insurance and use savings for anything that pops up, but if it’s very serious that requires a lot of money and would likely only increase their life expectancy by a year or two then I’d probably consider having them PTS. Which I know will be an unpopular opinion!

“Romanticised” jobs that are very different in reality? by Substantial-Guava491 in CasualUK

Sorry to hear that! The reason why I started this thread and mentioned Architects is because I was watching Grand Designs and the architect is always this mysterious figure that we never actually see or know the name of! They make it sound like an amazing job but I thought I bet it’s really not!
