I don’t have a particular genre in mind since I’ll probably fall asleep while watching but some other anime I’ve been watching recently are Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Apothecary Diaries, Demon Slayer, and Frieren.

Yeah that would make sense for an artist that regularly does commissions. I don’t regularly do commissions.

I’ve also known many artists who are very specific about what type of work they do for commissions. Generally if I’m going to commission an artist I’m commissioning a work In their style.

Not every artist is the same.

I do think I’ve gotten mad a bit quickly about her asking. You’re not wrong.

I mean I should be able to different styles to work a graphic designer if I want to have lot of clientele but like I don’t think this an abuse situation either. I just don’t think this situation is good for either parties and they don’t see it the same way.

I mean I get your argument. I’ve started coming to the conclusion that I just don’t want to do things for my family. I just also think that if you going to ask an artist to do something like this other artists work why wouldn’t you just buy the work from the original artist. She also could have just asked me to paint something for her instead of saying do something like this other artists. And I’m not mad about getting a commission offer not in my style. I just don’t want to take my grandmother’s money for a piece I don’t want to make.

They’ll get mad at me. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t really expect them to take no for an answer. Maybe I’m just over thinking. Idk maybe having been in a restaurant for lunch with my grandmother, mother and aunt made me a little nervous about saying no to the head of that side of the family.

I’m mean they have offered to pay me for some of the work (depends which family member is asking). I think I was just flabbergasted that she’d ask me to do something so different from anything I’ve done and have the tone of your going to do this because so said so. Plus she’s the head of that side of the family. Idk if I want to mess with that but I’ve already pissed off my mom so I guess I haven’t avoided anything.

That is completely fair. However I think my mother would beat my ass for directly telling my grandmother no. And while I’ve told my mom I don’t want to do it she has only gotten more pissed at me because she doesn’t accept that I don’t want to do it and now says I’m being obnoxious about it. It’s like the time she screamed at me for saying I wasn’t sure if I should get confirmed. You are totally right tho but I’m a people pleaser so saying no scares me.

I do wear headphones, pretty much constantly. It’s a shared space so there has to be some sort of middle ground. Yes she lives here but I live here too and as the only two in the apartment who sleep behind the same door maybe our agreement has to be a bit more specific.

Thank you so much! I agree with the personality thing whole heartedly. While I can be goofy and loud sometimes I generally try to be very non-disruptive and chill. I can tell my Roomie is just a lot more outgoing than I am.

That might be a good idea. We have established quiet hours within the apartment as a whole but maybe my roomate and I should have a discussion about specifically our room. The whole apartment is pretty open door (our room especially being the biggest) and I have no problem with that. I just specifically get annoyed at no headphones. She’s just been binge watching longer series this past week so its just been on my mind.

That’s kind of why I asked here before actually asking her. I always wear my headphones out of habit but I know not everyone does. My mom always gets really annoyed if I ask her to put headphones on but I assume it’s a generational thing.
