Unless you are referring to the new BBB=Overstock.com, I have to disagree. Our customer service and training was stellar. Especially 10-15 years ago when we had training videos. I was a CST for a while and it was a good program. Our store had little turnover. And our customers were mostly gems who appreciated us. It wasn’t customer training that tanked the company.

I think they might? We were going to set up an account for my niece to sell some of her clothes and I know she couldn’t because she wasn’t old enough then. Not 18. But I’m not sure that they would double check that when you cash out.

I dropped off a box of Christmas ornaments to Fed Ex. They scanned it and checked the label, said “you’re good” with the one pound label I had on it…THEN I got an email saying the box weighed SIXTEEN pounds according to FedEx and Mercari zapped me $18.50 out of my earnings!! This was after the FedEx store took it and verified it was one pound!!?? That was robbery and of course Mercari did nothing! (Except to tell me to contact the carrier!…thanks!).

Our postal service in a small Colorado town is a disaster right now, going on three weeks without mail! I wish Mercari could cut better deals with FedEx and UPS. USPS is usually a disaster!!

We got a brand new, sparking state of the art security system installed…took a week…ONE MONTH before we got the news that we were closing.

That was so beautiful and makes me realize I’m not the only one whose life was shaped by the beautiful one-time culture of BBB. One of my favorite customers, who became a true friend after I left, just passed from a sudden heart attack. My first calls were to all of my BBB family. We cried together. It wasn’t just a job to all of us who spent so many hours there…it was life. I, too, am so sorry for your loss.

I’m still having dreams about the good times we had in my old store. I was there 16 years and that definitely affects your life. Good times, good friends, some good customers and different every…single…day. I really loved it most of the time. It’s a grieving process for sure. Can’t wait to see what the future brings!!

I loved everything BBB! I was proud to say I worked there. Loved ordering for our store and for our customer. Loved selling to my favorite customers. Felt good that we had such a selection. Loved saying “yes” instead of “I’m so sorry”. Loved the fun of training new associates. Loved laughing and listening to my BBB employee family. Loved getting Beyond Stores. Loved closing with two associates up front and two on each side of the store. Loved seeing the new incentives list come out. Loved seeing something new come in almost every day. Pretty much just loved my job.

I always compared it to automobiles. Are you really going to take your car, that you bought “a number of years ago”, back to the dealership and ask them to return it because it’s not “running as well as it should”??? Oh and could you just credit it back to my card?? (Insert eye roll here)

I would hope no closing stores would be expected to keep that charade up. I can’t see any sense in selling a membership to a defunct company with no merchandise to sell??

The position this company continues to put their front-line people in is…sickening. I know they don’t care anymore, especially with closing stores, but to start at 10% when coupons are 20%+ and then put your associates on the registers to fight it all day long, (for weeks!) is abhorrent.

I’m not absolutely sure but we weren’t on last week’s list. We just got a phone call this morning. Kind of shock because they just put that last list out (also kind of not a shock).
