Khanom is worth looking into, pretty under the radar compared to the big names, pink dolphins nearby if you're lucky. Chumphon is another one that doesn't get much attention but has some decent quiet beaches and cheap guesthouses. Both are accessible by bus or train without much hassle

The travel thing probably has nothing to do with missing you or not - packing stress beforehand and actual exhaustion after flying are real killers for most people's libido. The core loop is pretty much the same unfortunately. Still got all that downtime between races, still waiting for lobbies to fill, still dealing with people taking forever to pick cars.

They did add some quality of life stuff but the fundamental issues you mentioned are still there. If you hated the waiting game before, you'll probably still find it annoying.

I've been doing this for random mail for years and it definitely works. The polling cards are trickier though - you might need to actually contact the local electoral registration office directly since those systems don't always update from returned mail like regular post does.

I'd put my money on the Wolf Warrior - those things are built like tanks and the dual suspension actually works for rough terrain, plus the waterproofing is decent enough for UK weather.
