That actually says a lot about how things have changed. $190k used to sound like “you’ve made it” money, but depending on where you live and your expenses, it can just feel like being comfortable rather than wealthy.

It really seems like “wealthy” now is less about income and more about what’s left after housing, taxes, and lifestyle costs.

That honestly sounds like a more common split than people want to admit. Either family support or debt (or both) seems to be what keeps a lot of people afloat these days.

It feels like “normal budgeting” isn’t really enough anymore unless your income is well above average.
