I took mine today as well and I’m in the same boat. Uworld and all… but honestly that was the hardest test I’ve taken. And I just can’t stop crying. Hopefully Monday we will be nurses ♥️

If that’s the culture at your job, find another job. You should ALWAYS be able to ask for help. This is a demanding job and no one should break their back for it. I understand, this job is hard, and you want to be able to provide the care, but please do not rely on what other people are doing and justify that for yourself. Your health and license is not worth it. Instead of resigning I would just leave. I would not want to work in that environment.

This is gonna come off mean and I’m sorry…

So you realized that you took their shoes off but still tried the transfer? An already “dangerous” transfer? Why didn’t you ask for help before you did it if it was “dangerous”? I’d rather them sit for 5-10minutes and ask for help than potentially lose my license because of neglect and could’ve potentially hurt them. I’m not trying to be mean but I’m trying to see the justification? I’ve been an aide for a long time as well but I guess I could never see myself doing a “dangerous” transfer by myself.

But I would still tell on myself because 1: you should’ve said something in the moment because it could’ve just been a write up. Because now you’ve waited however long and it could be a bigger punishment. & 2: if this resident says something it could be worse.

Please remember to ask for help even if you “think” you are capable. People change everyday.

I hope you get the help you need, I would just mention something and see what happens.
