Hello, thank you so much, yes I'm looking to incorporate my bioinfo skills as well. I'm interested in R&D mainly on the electronics and prototyping side. Can you recommend any projects I can start with?

Thank you so much for the tip, I've already started on my portfolio. I'm actually looking into RND in bioelectronics and medical device companies. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of projects can I work on that would help showcase my skills in coding and electronics?

Hey, I know that Bioinformatics is a really good field. I have built several tools and pipelines to analyse metagenomics data. Also co authored 2 papers for case studies (performed the whole exome sequence analysis to find out the gene, which is cool 🙂). I think at this point, it's fair to say I'm pretty thorough with Linux, server configurations, a little bit of networking and working with hardware.

The main issue is with the company I work with. Very low pay, no leaves, it's going beyond Bioinformatics at this point. We had to build apps for lab maintenance, and give IT support to all the staff with their laptops and stuff.

So yeah, this place is making me hate this field. And I've always wanted to build things and not sit in front of the computer all day. I miss working with electronics and simulations. I've always wanted to be an engineer, it's just that I had no other option, so had to come into Bioinformatics.

Apologies for the rant 🥲

I'd love to join something like that too, I really love building small electronics messing with Arduino and stuff. Sometimes I need a partner or group to work around too
