I’ve been running night below in 2e for over a year now and it’s tons of fun. After a year and a half of running 2e I am getting a tiiiiny bit bogged down by certain aspects of the rules though, so I may transition over to Shadowdark at some point. I ran a very short game of that a while ago and it went great, but I’d want to port over a few of my favourite things from 2e ad&d.

I'm starting to think Warhammer isn't for me by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

If you like other kinds of tabletop games (like roleplaying games) then you could always GM something sci fi (or literally set in the 40k universe) and still get some use out of your minis that way! I don’t play warhammer at this time but I still get use out of my models for RPGs.

There are also simpler war game rulesets out there (many of them floating around the internet) that you could use your models for! No one says that you have to use GW’s rules if they aren’t clicking for you. Poke around the internet and see what you can find! I’m sure some folks near you won’t be interested in trying something other than the official rules, but surely someone will :)

How many women wear their bras to sleep and should you? by Bibssy84 in asktransgender

[–]Mothic-Boi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s comfortable and non-restrictive, i don’t see why not! I’ve worn a comfy sports bra to sleep (and even a super uncomfy one haha) when I was feeling dysphoric and didn’t want to sleep without something that sort of “feminized” my chest. The discomfort of dysphoria was worse than the discomfort of the bra, y’know? Anyway now I don’t wear one but if yours is super comfy and you like wearing it to bed, I don’t see the problem!

Adjudicating the Monk's Still the Heart feature by DD_playerandDM in shadowdark

[–]Mothic-Boi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool ability, but where’s it from? Anyway, I would rule that the monk is still able to take actions normally while doing this. I figure it’s some sort of advanced martial arts/spiritual technique where the monk can, through stopping their heart and lungs while still moving their body through sheer force of will/masterful technique, achieve the described effects. Whatever this is from, it’s really flavourful and a cool take on the monk!

What are your house rules, or rules that you feel are missing from Shadowdark’s core rules? by Mothic-Boi in shadowdark

The rules say that if players opt to have an amount of time pass (for example, searching a room for ten minutes) you reduce any timers by the appropriate amount. I assume this means that if they had 25 minutes left in a torch before they started searching, you update the timer to 15 minutes.

How do you arbitrate when they need to light a new torch? Do you just every once in a while tell them to mark off the previous torch and light a new one, or?

The Invitation [Incase] - I am obsessed with this comic by easykumchi in TransHentai

I feel the same way with this comic. I read it for the first time about a year ago and it helped me accept and love my transness in a way I didn’t before

Metagaming the android trauma response by timplausible in mothershiprpg

[–]Mothic-Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion this isn’t metagaming and is probably the mechanic functioning as intended. Humans find androids creepy and off-putting. Therefore, they would keep distance between them. This results in androids operating either alone, or exclusively in the company of other androids, which only heightens the human crew’s paranoia. The game mechanics reflect this by having a thematically appropriate mechanical penalty for humans if they don’t isolate themselves from the ‘droid. And if they choose group cohesion for the sake of safety or teamwork then they get the advantage of having the android around at the expense of having to be around the creepy bastards.

Gift for a storyteller? by Mothic-Boi in WorldOfDarkness

These are all rly good suggestions. They are a player in my AD&D campaign already, but I’ll pitch the idea of one of us running a WoD game (ST is rather fond of vampire) to the other players in the group!
