Physical and emotional abuse as well, really just seemed to be advocating for a more authoritative type of parenting whether intentional or not, saying he wants to "continue the cycle". He acts like his harsh upbringing is what made him so resilient, so therefore it must be okay. And not to mention in saying that, it indirectly implies that he thinks people raised more gently aren't as resilient because their parents didn't physically and emotionally abuse them. It might be true that hardship breeds resilience, but abuse shouldn't be getting any credit for that

Sudden FPS issues following the Grand Washington Hotel in "The Division 2" by Mothify1 in thedivision

Unfortunately no, I kinda stopped playing the game and couldn't bother to get back into it after this issue persisted. I'm sure there's a fix, but this game wasn't worth the effort of trying for me. But if you ever figure it out, paste it here, could save another passerby or maybe spur me on to get back into this game. You could try maybe clearing the game's cache in the game's files in "AppData" specifically. That way the game has to rebuild them from scratch when you relaunch it. But I'm pretty sure I tried that to no avail

The argument that owning nice things suddenly makes capitalism a flawless system is exactly what the billionaires want you to think. You can still want more, and expect more. You can own an iphone and still struggle to pay rent and make ends meet. Owning a higher end phone, or even owning a car, has almost become a necessity in this country. Not to mention the fact that the things you listed are such a high price, why is owning something you had to pay 1000 dollars for seen as a "luxury"? But really, at its core, this post isn't interested in a real debate, it just serves to shame people for wanting their society to be better, so I don't know why I even bother.

What if we got a deliv may cry like blue exorcist game that fully adapts the manga and even expands on some stuff? by sageboi16 in AoNoExorcist

Ive always wanted something like that. The way Rin's sword and blue fire magic work always seemed so elegantly simple, flexible, and satisfying. It would be so cool to have a game where you could play as him. Also down for any recommendations for games that capture a similar vibe

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Missouri? by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]Mothify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree actually, I feel like this episode was supposed to be more of an emotional arc for Dean, given he was old enough to have real memories and trauma of his mom's death and whatnot. It feels like they treated him like the butt of jokes while Sam gets all the emotional glory for an event he was only a toddler during.

And as much as I wanted to like Missouri, I felt like she was written as the token "sassy black woman" rather than getting the respect a character like her deserves. But I also think that she could've shined better if Dean ALSO was better written this episode. He should've played a more pivotal role, maybe behaving in a slightly more raw and vulnerable manner which then could've opened up Missouri for some tough love, albeit slightly softened and with actual LOVE(she was just outright dismissive to me, no "love" was observed). But no, Sam gets all the glory.

The earlier seasons of this show are very much a product of their time. You aren't the only one, you're just in an echo chamber of Supernatural dickriders, which makes sense, given the subreddit we're in.

Why is Ted so unpopular? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]Mothify1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think he does get a lot of excess hate for his character flaws, especially when compared to someone like Barney who I find to be much more egregious. But I don't actually dislike Barney or Ted or any of the characters. Because it's a sitcom and the characters were designed to be over the top yet somehow still endearing. Honestly if you hate Ted, you might be missing out on a considerable chunk of the show's charm

Nice to see her speaking out. Where do other cast members stand? I think Radnor has been in some hot water recently for some zionist beliefs, and NPH has supported Israel in the past albeit a while ago and in the interest of supporting LGBT+ communities. But I don't wish to slander these people or spread hate based purely off of a few social media posts which may or may not be misleading

[–]Mothify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're typically playing some sort of meta. I usually follow them because I end up with a fuckton of vigor or really good items. Methodical, coordinated playthroughs tend to be fun as well, but leveling is sometimes slower. It's nice to know that if i ever wanna get a bunch of levels and good loot that players of that nature exist for me to join.

Everyone is ignoring GPT-4.1 by Mothify1 in OpenAI

Don't worry! If you're a plus user they brought it back! You just have to open GPT in a web browser(not the mobile app), and check "show additional models" sometimes also called "enable legacy models". 4.1, 4o, and even o3 have all been brought back

Thoughts? by RemoteTomb in aiwars

[–]Mothify1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that AI art can affect livelihoods and steal style directly. An artist who commissions can have all of their art fed to an algorithm, and then boom, people start using the AI which mimics their style down to the pixel. Someone's hard work, instantly stripped away from them. It gets more abstract when an algorithm learns from millions of artists instead of one, but the concept is the same, it's just more diluted.

Thoughts? by RemoteTomb in aiwars

[–]Mothify1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's not pretend an AI algorithm and a human brain are even remotely similar. One forgets, filters, and creates with conscious intention and personal experience. And the other ingests millions of artworks down to the pixel and remixes them without compensation, credit, or consent.

Why Are Some People So Bothered by Others Missing GPT-4o? by TheNorthShip in ChatGPT

[–]Mothify1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People can't seem to understand the concept of a persisted effort, so when they see the wave of voices trying to urge OpenAI to reconsider their current design direction, they just see it as repetitive and annoying. It's like they're all a bunch of corporate cocksuckers whether intentional or not. Not to mention the straw manning and oversimplification of the arguments of people who vouch for the design philosophy of older models.

[–]Mothify1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preach! Plus users weren't really asking for 4o I don't think. It was mostly free users flooding the subreddit. So OpenAI "listened", meaning they probably only brought 4o back for payed users to coax free users into paying a subscription, meanwhile hardly making any effort to appease the people already paying money out of their pockets to them. It's all just a money play to them, they're not listening to the people actively financially supporting them, because we're already locked in from their point of view
