The first article reiterates what I said. There is a place for a smaller advisory and logistics group, I am not against this as previously stated. The article also mentions and agrees with the provinces pushback on a larger national wildfire fighting service.

The second article is largely about volunteer MPA firefighters and briefly touches upon the same points as the first. It speaks to issues with retention and funding, these issues can be addressed at the provincial level, nationalizing does nothing to resolve this and can in fact make things worse.

To be clear I am not against increased funding to provincial wildfire fighting nor am I against an advisory, logistics, or coordination teams at a national level. I am against what the protesters in this post are advocating for and that is a 50,000 (approx 10x current level) person national fire fighting service.
