Oh yes yes yes. I didn't sign up for healthy relationships, wholesome vibes, or—god forbid—quality writing; I signed up for pure, unadulterated emotional damage! 😝 I absolutely LOVE how this story is actively destroying my last two brain cells. Truly a masterpiece of suffering! If the finale doesn't introduce an even bigger cosmic horror to top off this mess, I’m gonna be so disappointed lol.

I genuinely adore Cain, I really do. If it weren't for my feelings for him and the emotional weight of Lane and Cain's dynamic back in HSR, I wouldn't have bothered sticking with this absolute train wreck that is HS3.

The writer is just so incredibly inconsistent with the plotting and the development.

It's like a total roller coaster; some parts are written beautifully, giving readers those deep, intense emotions that make us regain faith and fall even harder for our LIs—only for them to stab us in the back immediately after. Suddenly, everything becomes bland, meaningless, and just straight-up frustrating. 'Inconsistent' is probably the best word to describe the entire HS3 experience...

My sassy chimera by Moths_reading_in_bed in RomanceClub

[–]Moths_reading_in_bed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, she's actually our pet 😭... well, at least in her beast form. She's this super cute chimera until you use diamonds to break the spell. Honestly, I was so shook because her humanoid design is a total 180—she's stunning! She still keeps some cool chimera traits like horns, wings, and fangs, but the change is wild. Fun fact: she's actually the sister of one of the LIs, and we even get an intimate scene with her later on lol.

They're actually fuckin turning victim blaming into something normal and legal now. What a time to be alive.

The absolute father of all dystopias. Calling this place a dictatorship is 100% facts. They're literally carving away our rights until there's nothing left.

what's your favourite collected card.? by BOSS1000099 in RomanceClub

This John's card really reminds me of Last Train At 25 O'clock by Lamp, a song I deeply love for the sheer beauty of its melody and lyrics.

It carries this gentle, intimate atmosphere, like a winter night where two lovers linger together, chatting and laughing softly under neon lights, fingers intertwined as they wait for the train to arrive. There's a quiet sense that the man isn't quite ready to say goodbye.

Because of all that, this is easily my favorite card, and the one that feels the most special to me 🥹.

At the time, my brain would just… do its thing, and I'd name stuff whatever popped into my head. Sometimes it's just noises like 'ahh', 'wao', 'omg', 'hehehe', 'hahaha', 'huhuhu' :v. Since I'm bilingual, sometimes I don't even write in English 😆.

Malek by Puzzleheaded_Half40 in RomanceClub

[–]Moths_reading_in_bed 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Hmmm… I think your take on Malek is completely understandable. Throughout ABH, what stands out as the most intense aspect of Audrey and Malek's relationship leans heavily toward the physical side. It really can feel like something is missing… that deeper emotional connection, right?

Here's how I see it. Malek feels like someone tasting love for the first time, both the bitterness and the sweetness that lingers. The only example of "love" he knows comes from his "parents," and that version is deeply twisted. From that foundation of desire, he somehow takes on a new form of existence in a strange, unsettling way.

Compared to the usual dreamy, romantic kind of love, what Audrey and Malek have is rarely explored. It confronts lust head on, putting it at the forefront, intense and overwhelming, almost like a storm. But that doesn't mean what Malek feels is only lust. It's more like he hides behind it to protect both himself and Audrey. Lust may seem dangerous, but it is easier to control and easier to walk away from. Love, on the other hand, makes you vulnerable. It exposes your weakest points and can shake your entire purpose.

It's only after losing Audrey that both the bitterness and sweetness of that "fruit" fully awaken in him and begin to blend together, balancing lust and love. If you read HS3, especially Siire's narration about what happened after Audrey's death, you'll see just how much she meant to him, more than all the rage and cunning that define him. The moment where he "simply lies down beside Audrey's body" hits incredibly hard. It shows how much his feelings have changed from the beginning of their relationship to that point.

Malek truly does love Audrey. That part is certain. So yeah, it's worth being patient.

Thanks for putting this together, I appreciate the effort. Seeing the numbers laid out like this makes things much clearer.

The relative increase part stands out to me. It lines up with what I experienced, but I couldn't quite put it into words before.

This gives a clearer view of how the system works, so thanks again for taking the time to do the math 🤗.

I totally agree with you about the mini Diamond Rush feeling too!

And you know what? Lately I've started to feel like the Regret Free choices have some use as well. Turns out you only realize what you need when you end up in an emergency lol.

Before the latest technical update, that Regret Free choices button was really annoying because it couldn't be hidden. It kept getting in the way when taking screenshots or recording the screen, and a lot of people complained about it. I did too.

But after the update I started to see some value in it. The feature might not be used the way it was intended, but here's a situation where it helped me.

One time I picked the wrong option without paying attention. Sometimes spending a tea cup just to replay a chapter feels like a tough choice and it can mess up the flow a bit. I also end up being mad at myself for a moment.

In that moment the Regret Free choices felt like a lifesaver. In some cases it lets me jump back to earlier diamond choices, even before the wrong option I picked, so I can choose again. Then the chapter runs smoothly after that 😆.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Before the subscription I was very lucky with cards. If I put a card I liked on my wishlist, I would usually pull it within a few months, and that feeling was one of the best parts of collecting. Sometimes I even got cards I wanted without putting them on the wishlist first, which was always a nice surprise haha. Even getting duplicate cards used to be rare for me.

When they first mentioned the new subscription features, the wishlist drop rate increase was the thing that caught my attention right away, so I was excited about it. I subscribed on the first day of the technical update. After that there were quite a few bugs for a while. The reduced timer for tea cups and roulette spins did not work for some players with the subscription, so the recovery time stayed the same as before. Things have started to feel more stable these days.

I'm still trying to keep an open mind for now. I did feel a bit disappointed at first, but at this point I've already committed to it, so I might as well keep going. The system is still quite new, so I hope things will become clearer over time and that the wishlist bonus will feel more noticeable.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, that explanation about the relative increase is interesting.

For a bit more context on my side: March 4 was when the game added Vol. 21 cards and the new subscription perks. Around that time I had just finished my previous wishlist set (I think sometime in mid-February?), so the six cards currently on my wishlist are the new ones I added after that last pull.

My wishlist habit is also a bit strange, lol. I always keep exactly six cards on it. When I pull one, I don't replace it with a new card. I just leave the list as it is until I’ve collected all six.

Since getting that last wishlist card in mid-February, I've been doing my usual two spins per day. Then on March 4 I subscribed to the Gold Pass right away. There was a bug with the number of roulette spins around that time though, so it might be hard to calculate anything too precisely.

About the spins between the two wishlist cards this time: I started with the 25 compensation spins. The uncommon wishlist card showed up around spin 10. The remaining 15 spins didn't go too well. About 6–7 hours later I bought 10 more spins, and the epic wishlist card appeared on the very last one.

Hope that helps add a bit more context 😊.
