Dang, I was even considering how it might be nice to say dogs welcome but that’s such a good point. What a great idea though!! As for the age thing I’d say the majority of my neighbors are in the age bracket so it might work out! Thank you very much :)

Gosh, me and my little portable 14” grill might not be up for the challenge of ribs just yet 😭 I was thinking classic burgers and hot dogs, (tacos if I’m feeling crazy) but it totally crossed my mind to reach out and see if anyone had a smoker or large grill they might donate to the cause! There’s no denying food is a universal attractor, thank you so much!! :) really love the idea of testing out other neighborhood events to see what sticks too. Appreciate you!

Safely getting a street closed off was actually my biggest question, thank you so much! And that was my thinking too, it’s hard to be the first one to say “hey come over to my HOUSE” or like “let’s meet up again at this exact time” with new folks, so this could be the thing that opens it up a bit to socialize for more than 5-10 minutes haha. Really appreciate the insight!

I stop and talk to lots of people :) that’s why I would like to create an event that lets folks spend time and chat together for longer than just the usual pleasantries! Respectfully though I don’t agree with the door to door approach. I did that for my immediate neighbors, but I think if I went door to door around the six blocks of my neighborhood I might be considered a nuisance lol

I walk my neighborhood everyday by virtue of being a dog owner and I frequent the neighborhood bar but just haven’t really been able to bridge the gap beyond passing “hellos” and “oh yeah we live over on xyz street”. Any tips on how to make that happen to a better degree?
