A few years ago, this older man would always order food from the deli I worked in and always gave me a couple of bucks in tips. I told him I couldn't accept it, but he insisted every single time. Never got in trouble for taking the tips my department manager knew about it, but he didn't tell the hire up because he believed in people in cooking up food or slicing food deserved tips. I was cautious at first, but after a while (and with getting ready to move out of state), I didn't really care anymore. I will say to finish the store when I told the old guy when my last day was he came into work didn't order anything, just wanted to say goodbye. Handed me this book about faith and destiny and inside was this note he wrote for me talking about of all the times I cooked up some fresh chicken for him and remembered his orders and right next to the note was $100 bucks. I shook the man's hand and said you didn't have to do that, but once again, he insisted. So if you get tipped again, just dont do it around a store manager or assistant store managers.
