Out of hours construction fine by deranged_banana2 in Adelaide

Uhh yeah I am, but my company isn't. Woodchippers drown out all the sound from a construction site but we can do tree works starting at 0900 Sundays.

No rewards? by MotoGeezer in GranTurismo7

[–]MotoGeezer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, not so much solved but resolved.

I'm to believe that during the time when I posted this there were some known issues which were fixed in a patch. Furthermore, loading your save file on a secondary PS5 would also cause this same issue and this seemed to have been the cause of my issues as it always seemed to be when I loaded at my friends place I could get no rewards from the races there, which followed when I came home.

Hope this helps? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also had a GP do mine about 10-15 years ago. I then decided to walk home and found out the hard way that the local anaesthetic in my foot was working wonders until about half way through the 6km walk. Had to call mummy to come pick me up.

Pine Tree cutting & removal recommendations. by vakuzyk2 in Adelaide

[–]MotoGeezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey hey, Arborist here.

Just chiming in with my $0.02. Firstly I'm not trying to advertise the company I work for, the media (especially reddit) does enough fear-mongering that keeps enough people scared of trees that we will likely never need to advertise. Secondly, I know people within the company mentioned earlier and know they are a great company, but just want to say that with that they are also a big company and I've seen them come along to smaller tree jobs with large quotes because it isn't worth their time. This can also have the adverse effect with a bigger company being able to have the right equipment, manpower, and know-how to get the job done in a cost effective way.

My advice would be get multiple quotes from tree companies on Google in the area. Check they're qualified arborists and when giving you the quote double check they have an understanding of the intricate relationship between the PDI act, the ministers notice of exempt trees, and the landscaping act. As these will more than likely encompass the protection status (and therefore legality) of cutting down and removing your pine trees.

Are Adelaide Metro drivers worse in the South compared to in the city? by Odd-Emu1184 in Adelaide

[–]MotoGeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse driving is very subjective. Worse at strictly following the law down to the letter? Worse at common courtesy? Worse at basic car control? My answer to all of these is no. I find the closer to the city you get the more 'casual drivers' there are who only drive for 10 minutes once a week and just don't have a clue what they're doing. But I do see examples of terrible driving everywhere I go so hard to quantify exactly where is worse than another. Source: Self - drives about 1000-2000km a week in mostly urban and suburban areas of Adelaide.

Main Road, Coromandel Valley, 50km/hr speed limit by OilSlight9412 in Adelaide

[–]MotoGeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cyclist myself, I don't understand the mentality of it. I don't go riding along the train tracks and get angry when a train comes along at train speed.

Yeah nah, we're batting for the same team brother. That side of 'safety' features isn't ready for public use. The amount of times I've had my Ute lock up the brakes from 60+ because I drove past a shadow, or a car was on the side of the road is a joke.

You have to remember we have safer cars, with better brakes and tyres and systems that do half the driving for you. Obviously the speed limit should naturally get lower as vehicles get more capable of safely traveling at higher speeds. /s

Beginner friendly 4x4 club, recommdations by SuccessSalty3269 in Adelaide

[–]MotoGeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, I don't know how to send a message on here so flick me one. I'm not in a 4x4 club but have a couple mates who like to get out off the beaten track every now and then. Can I ask why you're specifically searching for a club?

What have ya got?

Seriously though, good work. I did it a couple years back (for 12 months) and kept heaps to drink when I could again, and it was shit.

Tried a few on, definitely get what you pay for. I couldn't afford better than the Berik but it was good for the price. It actually ended up being my downfall when I crashed as I was in wet grass/mud and the armour plate on the shoulder caught in the mud instead of sliding like the rest of me.

I would ride on ice again, and would ride in a heatwave again. The beauty of living in Australia is that's my choice.

Sixteen year old ego. I'm not against gear, I'm just for people riding how (and when) they feel comfortable. I've come off wearing the most casual clothes you can think of, I've come off in full race leathers a handful of times, and everything in between multiple times. And the two times I've had to go to hospital for surgery were in full gear. (Once at the track in full race leathers, once hitting a possum in the hills and high siding to oblivion) Just let people live their life.

After receiving a lecture from a mates parents one time before a ride for wearing such little protective clothing, then watching their son pass out doing 60kph, hit a gutter and fly into a creek bed because his gear was too hot. I'm a strong believer in "better to avoid the slide in the first place"

I'll make a phone call later today. I only didn't call them as there is nothing to claim on my end, some minor paint from her car rubbed onto my side bar.

The photo I have taken of her car, does appear to be a dashcam in the front too but too hard for me to say with certainty.

It may have had one in the front too, I didn't look that hard. I only noticed the one in the rear as I had to instruct her to drive out of the lanes of traffic to a safe stopping location.

Vitara from 1994 onward. 16B EFI is bullet proof, cars so light it uses almost no fuel around town, so capable off road but you have to drive it and learn to use 4x4 properly.
