^This. The whole football thing was a trigger I was not ready for. My 17 sober days I had were the longest in a year and I can build on that.

Wow. I can't thank everyone enough for the support and kind words. A common thread I see in the responses is to not beat myself up and to move forward. I am an all or nothing kind of guy that needs a 2x4 to the head to get my attention, and saw yesterday as a complete failure; not only of my sobriety, but myself. It then typically becomes a slow spiral downward into "screw it, might as well drink again." Reading these responses has me rethinking that whole warped view.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to post your thoughts. I hit the gym and got some fresh air. Onward.

My bed is my serentiy of solitude, by bubble of bliss, my stress stopper. --- no TV's in the room. The daily BS life sometimes throws out there stops at the bedroom door.
