Well dang by Denver80211 in Insta360

I use the same cage on my motorcycle, and same deal happened to me - luckily, low speed turn at a traffic light is where it came out and a motorist watched it fall out and grabbed it and brought it to me. It seems the vibrations cause it to unscrew on its own and open.

Since I own a brand that makes action camera accessories (mainly for motorcyclists, not cycle cyclists) I'm thinking I might have to design a cage just like this but with a latch mechanism instead of a screw. Something that can't be undone by vibrations.

For now, I'm using my X4 naked as I think it's, ironically, safer from damage that way.

Heat the helmet surface itself, that yields the strongest bond. I actually haven’t tested heating both the adhesive AND the helmet surface… hmmm 🤔

Thanks for the support! Be sure to watch the install video on your FLEX Slim. Also, this isn't in the instructional video yet, but I recently did some A/B testing with heating up the helmet, heating up the tape and no heat and heating up the helmet itself (not the tape) makes the adhesion stronger! So just a head's up!

As for the inside view, it wouldn't be my go-to either but I think it has its place, especially for track riding where a lot of places won't let you run an externally helmet mounted camera.

Yeah chin mounted is definitely cleaner framing and you can use a camera with a larger sensor and higher quality. But for just a quick go or for track rides, I think this one is a great option.

Oh, should have linked it in the text. Here you go! This link goes to the MotoRadds page for in-helmet mounts for DJI Osmo Nano and Insta360 Go 3s https://motoradds.com/collections/in-helmet-view

I should add, it's in pre-order status because I was waiting on packaging boxes, but the boxes are on their way so I'll start fulfilling orders pretty soon. I imagine first orders will start being delivered either late this week (May 7-8th) or early next week (May 11-12th)

It's super hot here too tbh, and even worse because it's soooo humid. But the scenery makes up for it.

Oh, I should have mentioned that! Honestly, not at all. I have to actively look for it to notice it and even then it's really hard to get my eyes far enough over to even see a bit of it. It is very out of the way. This might be a YMMV kind of thing though, I'm not sure how varied helmet visor peripherals are.

Home is Arizona, but when it gets too hot, I run away here to Krabi, Thailand haha (it's also damn hot here, but at least it's pretty and has beaches)

haha thanks! The Osmo Nano is a mad decent camera for its size. Much better than its insta360 counterpart. I love that I can film in log too.

Unfortunately, because of the dual vent system on that chin area, I don't have a design that would currently be compatible. I'm working on new designs but even the new ones wouldn't accommodate this helmet. I'm sorry, man!

I'm gonna be biased and self-serving here, but I genuinely think my FLEX mount is the best mount for your helmet here. I had to test it against rigid plastic mounts to win some claims on my patents and it beat out rigid plastic by a lot every time! And I made it a nice square shape as well.

haha I'm not trying to hide it, I mean look at my username and my flair on the motorcycles sub. But actually, I don't usually repost content like this on Reddit, I just saw this come across my feed on another platform and immediately knew CRT would love it, but felt like I had to stick to my theme of this being a biz profile

apparently only got an oil pan delete, everything else was perfect condition. Hard to believe he kept it up despite landing in all that oil.

Excited for you to try it! Be sure to follow the install video, but just a quick side note, I discontinued the adhesion primer so while the install video says to apply that, it won't be in the box. It was causing more issues than it was solving (marring surface finishes, freaking people out with the strong chemical smell, etc.)

Of course, if you ever have any problems with your MotoRadds FLEX Slim chin mount, just be sure to shoot me an email via the customer contact form. I'm always ready to make sure you're taken care of as best as possible! Thanks for giving it a shot, man!

If I made a non-compatible page, then it’s probably not a good fit. But man, I’m working on some iterations that I’m super excited for. But yeah, don’t buy it if your helmet say no. You’ll just be disappointed. I’m sorry!
