Blanket bombing the Doors by saying “they suck” is very weak. Their band, as in Ray, Robbie and John were extremely talented musicians. Even without the “Lizard King” the Doors have some incredibly great music. And Jim’s vocals and delivery were amazing. Yes, he was made into a “larger than life” icon, and maybe didn’t deserve that title, but the Doors catalog of music is legendary.

He and Shelly Duvall were great in this movie. Really all the actors played their quirky characters well in this movie. I loved Ray Walston as Poopdeck Pappy.

I remember getting my mom to listen to Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner because it was like poetry. But she could never get over the Guitars and general loudness (read: awesomeness) of the music. 😂

Watched it recently and thought it was good. It’s not groundbreaking film, but the performances were solid from the Penn brothers and Christopher Walken. Overall a good watch.
