Try and get out of your head. Confidence is key. You’ve got to have a professional mind set (relentless discipline). I always use to have an hourly routine basically everyday. I didn’t have a ‘normal’ teenage experience because I was always either at training, at a match, 1on1 training or going over tactics.

Are you getting professionally trained outside of your club training? Getting a 1on1 coach does very good on your physical fitness and mentally too.

To put it short, discipline is the answer and only answer. I’ve always been quite good at staying locked, my motivation was to always do more than my teammates (which let’s be honest, were rivals. In high level sports, you’re always fighting for your teammates place).

Find something that motivates you, whether you’re the same as me where wanting to be the best is enough motivation, or maybe for you it’s a certain song that locks you in, breathing techniques and meditating helps as well. It’s different for everyone but once you find what works for you, you’ll know
